To bring up any plays make sure you hit the D pad once.

A Right on the Dpad will bring up all plays for the Line backers
- if you hit the dpad again it will move the line backers.
eg. a left of the d pad will move line backers left, a right will move right
- if you use the right stick it will blitz right lb, left, lb, all lb's or put them into zones

A Left of the Dpad will bring up all plays for the Defensive line
- if you hit the dpad again it will move the line dline.
eg. a left of the d pad will move line backers left, a right will move right
- if you use the right stick it will make the dl crash right, left, , or in the middle

A Up on the Dpad will bring up plays for coverage
- if you hit the dpad again it will move the guys in coverage.
eg. up of the d pad will back off coverage, down will press coverage
- if you use the right stick it will controll the zones, zone left, right, middle

A Down on the Dpad will bring up hot routes
- dpad controlls
up - Yellow
Left - purple
Down Blitz
Right - light blue or flats

Right stick controlls
up - dark blue
left - qb spy
down - man
right - qb contain

i haven't downloaded the demo yet but what you are saying is that if i want to do something simple like shift my dline to the left and use press coverage this is what i have to do:

Hit d pad to activate

Hit d pad again ( left) to show you want to change your line

Hit d pad again ( left) to show you want to shift left

THEN

Hit d pad to activate

Hit d pad again ( up) for coverage

Hit d pad again ( down) for press coverage



That’s 7 hits of the d pad just to do 2 moves.

lol, you hit the d pad once to activate

than i fyou want to move you line left you would press left left,

than for press coverage you hit up down

so it would be 5 hits to do 2 moves

oh, i wasn't sure if you had to activate it again in order to hot route the secondary..

still, that's too many d pad hits...

ea works on everything that doesn't need to be fixed. yet they will still determine tie breakers in online franchise mode by the alphabetical order of a team's last name!

how about you fix that instead!!

Thats what he means Jaiyson. Its terrible news. They took something simple and made it more complicated. But tell the masses its easier and gave it a trendy name.

for the general madden community it's great, for the madden competition community it's awful...

Hopefully there will be alot of bad feedback and they will add a option to switch back to the old way. If not then it will just take time to get use to.

I think the main thing at least for me is to break the habbit of trying to move a player with the dpad.. After that the adjustment should be fine (I hope lol)

If they just got rid of the tap to activate the pad everything would be fine.

lol....i think we will all adapt...yes it will be frusturating at first...its either u adapt to the d-pad or u will lose...ur choice...im not gonna lose..just keep playing the demo, get the d-pad figured out, find some blitzes, a run d, and a couple $ plays for offense and u will be off to a good start in madden...
