cost like 4 bucks to change your name. I had a laptop that wouldn't recognize my router and changing to a new channel did the trick for me.

and these controls are stupid. hot routing with d-pad is no good

I think if you go into settings and use the old controls you just press y then the reciver and right stick to hot route. Also as far as your router goes make sure in your xbox network settings it is automatic if you got a second hand box.
