| just a fun situation to decide
ok its the end of the game on the last drive 1:20 on the clock and you have 3 timeouts the ball is on the 30
would you rather 1. be down by 6 and have the ball and have a chance to win... or 2. be up by 6 and be on D and have a chance to lock up
its a tough decision for me last year i would prob say Offense cause my O was sick although my D was pretty sick too and at the beginning of this year i would prob say O too ... i am more of an offensive guy but lately my D has been sick and my O hasnt been as hot lately so i think im gonna pick ...
being up by six and be on D and LOCK UPP!!!!!!!!!!
Let me know what you guys would do |

| i was just in this situation - my opponent decided to not go in for the score and try and run the clock out -
he kicked off with 9 seconds up 1 - i housed the return - buck buck lights out.

| This is a tough one, but I think I'd rather be down 6 and have the ball. My offense isn't exactly superb but I don't have the skills on D yet to really be comfortable locking stuff down (plus I've been known to give up a few comebacks in my day ). I'd rather come out knowing where the ball is going. |

| I'd take the ball on offense milk it for the win. You might be able to lock up but your one fluke pass away from letting them run the clock out on you. |

| Without any question, BE UP 6 AND LOCK UP! If you can't lock up you don't deserve to win. Not to mention, in these situations I want to see if my opponent can actually handle the pressure I'm sending and put together a winning drive as the clock continues to tick. Most will crumble under the pressure.
EDIT: All you got to do is hold them to a field goal and you still get the W

| I've returned a fair number of kicks. Webb, Smith (Jets), Hester . . . In my 33 games I've got like 7 (and 1 punt return w/ Josh Wilson). |

| i have lost a few games being down by 6 situation lately, mostly due to too little time and too much field to cover....
but i would rather be up by 6 and lock up! depending on the time and situation on defense your gonna have a good idea what your opponent is going to be trying to do at the end of game situations....
i lost a league playoff game last night tied at 2 minutes to go was in field goal range, had some lag! iam on ps3, i called hike, and had no response, hit the hike button again no response, one second left on play clock i hit hike button a 3rd time, the ball hikes and qb immediately throws a quick pass into press coverage for a pick 6...i loose in playoffs! difficult to watch! and a gear grinder! lol |

| BE DOWN BY 6...... But thats only in this years madden. I feel as if i can score on any1. And chances are if im down by 6 i have put up some form of points in the game thus i feel as if i can keep scoring...And O is sooo fluky this year lol
but last year i would rather be up by6.....think about it, you only have to make 1 great play , or make 4 good plays in a row...the offense has to make 1 really great play or a lot of good plays. But with how defense was thats where i wanted to be
BUT EITHER WAY THE GAME IS IN YOUR HANDS
btw this yr i have had 3 online games where i had the ball with less than 40 sec on the clock no time outs and scored. I scored in the last 16 secs in 1 game.....this yr is soooo weird |

exactly and its a perfect time for the 1 man 1-5-5 blitz(btw have you tried blitzing the LB on the backside against slide protect i havent had time to try it yet) or some of my nickel sub and 46 blitz packages... the clock and scoreboard wont be the only pressure ... in that situation im comin and i know im gonna get you |

Yeah, now that you mention it 1-5-5 would be a GREAT formation to come out in if your on D with under 2 minutes to go because this would put more defenders in the secondary to guard the pass and less people on the LOS. Because most likely your opponent is going to try and pass the ball all the way down the field. And no, I haven't tried blitzing the LB on the backside yet against slide protection. I mostly run with the 46 playbook, however I've been meaning to get into the lab and practice with the 1-5-5 but I haven't been able to get in front of a console to practice. When I do, I plan on switching over to the NYJ D playbook. Just believe the playbook has more to offer. Allows you to give your opponent a variety of different looks.
EDIT: If I do switch over, I think I'll probably run with the 46 most of the game and then switch over to the 1-5-5 in certain situations. They have both formations right? Can't remember, not in front of a console. |
