I got it ( but I think Ur only on 360. I'm on PS3 if U have one). I don't get to put in the time I want to put into it, but when I sit down with it I use Kung Lao. I'm tryna stay away from "bandwagon" characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero (even though he's my favorite ), Smoke, Ermac, Liu Kang, Kitana & Noob. I watch alotta MK9 Tourney's on youtube & there are so many people on those characters its a shame ( especially Sub-Zero!!! LOL!) I figure I'll learn & master a less known character. I think it'll make me harder to play against. (My next characters are gonna be Sektor & Cyber Sub-Zero (once I beat the campaign)

Kung Lao is the most used Character in MK9 (professionally) Ermac is 2nd...

but Kung Lao is the best char in the game..

HAIL NAW!!!! SMOKE, ERMAC, SCORPION, KITANA, RAIDEN , NOOB, LIU KANG & KABAL are all U see one the tourney circuit. The only "Pro" I've seen use Kung Lao is Justin Wong. He's the best Marvel VS. Capcom player, but he's just okay on the MK9 tourney scene. Krayzie Bone, Kombofiend, Alex Vale, Aris & Rell are the best & they use those characters. Which spawned a stream of copycats. I saw the CPU use Baraka the other day though & he looks pretty good also. I might try him. BTW the "Best Character on the game" is a tie between SMOKE, SCORPION, NOOB & ERMAC. That's been the consensus for a min.

but when i watched the MK 9 Nationals, it was Kung Lao vs X almost every match... there were a few where it was Ermac Mirror, or Ermac v Sub/Cyber Sub(which is another top tier char.. currently labbing)

but mostly it was KL v insert char here


+ in the next week or 2, they are patching kung lao b/c he had an unnoticed infinite combo

I disagree. Perfect Legend is a beast though ( I can't believe I forgot to mention him!!). Kung Lao's moves are WAY to punishable to be the best. Pretty much all of his combos rely on the spin launcher which leaves him open to counter attack if he misses. His teleport is also too open to counter attack. U can't really play a zoning game with him because the other characters I mentioned b4 can teleport through his projectiles. He's a solid character but not the best.
Aside from the debate, I'm on the Cyber Sub-Zero bandwagon too!!! I'm liking what I see from Sektor also.

Ya CSZ is glitchy.. But when ju e 7th drops I'm learnin reptiles combos... I hate how small he is compaired to other fighters... Once the dlc costume pack drops humanoid reptile all the way..

I seriously got destroyed by a godlike sektor last night... If he hit me it was a 15ish hit combo was coming with it... He def has the coolest fatality in the game tho... (scarecrow)

Checkout the MK9 powerup tourney on Youtube. The 2nd match has a CRAZY Reptile player. Not to mention our friend Justin Wong gets smashed by Tom_Brady. I've been tinkering w. Cyrax also. He might wind up being my "Main". BTW that scarecrow Fatality is brutal!!!!

ya, Cyrax has some good Bomb trap combos

Have U tried any of the female characters (besides Kitana!!! LOL )? They all seem pretty fast, besides Shiva. I think they're pretty combo-friendly. I saw a Sindel user earlier, but he was unimpressive. He just spammed fireballs. Hopefully in a month or 2 I'll have all the characters mastered.

I'm really liking Baraka. IDK why he's not a more used character. You can pretty much juggle w/ all his Special Moves. He even has an "anti-air spin" a la Kung Lao. I'm also getting pretty good w/ Cyrax as of late. I've been trying to get down those "Bomb trap" combos off of the command grab he has.I think my next character is gonna be either Kabal or Reptile (after I saw THTB use him, I had to give him a look!!!!) Have U decided on a "Main" for tournament play yet?

Sub zero feels so slow and sluggish.
