*well theres my setup now ill explain it a lil, on offense i always start the back with the best carry rating, cuz i play running back and i know ball security is a must, so that why i play westbrook over mccoy, at QB i play mcabb cuz he's the best out of the two, i have kolb at 2nd string cuz i feel that he's a better passer than vick and im more of a pocket passer, but i do sub vick in for roll out plays or designed QB sneaks/draws, at WR i play them best to worst, it fits in my playbook an everything so i dont do anything to the WR's, at TE i put ingram as 2nd string cuz he's faster and i can do more with thim than i can with smith, on the defensive side of the ball i run a 4-4 defense not as good as sgibs but i like it, i play parker at LE cuz rating wise he's the best IMO but darren howard gets a few snapps as well, in the middle of my D-line i play bunkley and patterson i think there great! at RE ya'l know who i had to put there i got trent cole, he's by blindside hitter, he does good things for me, now at LOLB i play my SS mikell cuz he's got a good zone rating and speed rating and i can effectively use him in my 4-4 scheme at OLB, as for my two inside backers i play jordan and witherspoon cuz they have speed and they can tackle, on the backside of my formation at ROLB i have fokou cuz he's got 79 speed, decent zone rating and can tackle although i do sub him in and out with bradley, at my CB position i play samuel and hobbs cuz i have brown at that single high saftey position and i like to user him, a bonus of usering him is that he has an 83 hit power rating that comes in handy at time, in my 4-4 scheme there is no SS so that why i put whoever in. Now you might be wondering why i have the 2nd and 3rd string positions so oddly placed on D well its so i can get the players i want on kickoff, trotter, bradley, jordan, brown, mikell, and mays can all lay huge hits on the returner when i squib kick it.

well it's not like your backup QB means a whole hell of a lot.

if/when kolb is highly rated next year, I will probably use him full time.

I like your offense setup, but on D I use the NYJ 3-4 just because of the variety.

I put Cole at ROLB, Spoon at LOLB, Jordan and Bradley at ILB. Gocong at LE, Parker at RE, Bunk at NT.

I keep Sheldon, Asante and Ellis at CB and leave Mikell and Jones at safety, but YMMV of course and I don't think it makes much of a difference however you align that.

The line up doesn't look to bad but i'd prefer the 3-4 with the Eagles

LE- Patterson
DT-Bunkley
RE- Laws/Gocong/Parker
LOLB- Cole
MLB- Jordan. Bradley
ROLB- Witherspoon
CB2- Hobbs
FS- Brown
SS- Mikell
CB1- Samuel
Nickel- Harris

gotta have cole at DE. user he's obv ridic but the CPU controlled Cole creates pressure...much less when you contain or spy him.

BTW i move him over to LE b/c he dusts most RT's

vicks not my type of player to be totally honest with you, i dont roll out every play and if i sit in the pocket, he has 69 throw accuracy rating compared to kolb's 80, he has a short throw accuracy rating of 72 compared to kolb's 80, he has a medium throw accuracy rating of 64 compared to kolb's 78, he has a deep throw accuracy of 67 compared to kolb's 79, the only catagories that vick beats kolb in is throw power and throw on the run and those two attributes dont matter so much in my offensive gameplan, like i said i utilize him on certain roll outs and draws but not as a full time QB, with him he cant make all the throws mcnabb or even kolb can thats why i taylor my depth chart to fit my style of play pocket passer and 4-4 defense. in the 4-4 you have no SS help thats why i put sheldon at FS so i could get sheldon, asante, hobbs, and mikell all on the field at the same time, i want my best players on the field at all times, but for a 3-4 scheme i do realize that the lineup would change but in all honesty i would not and i repeat not play cole at linebacker, reason being he has a 30 man coverage rating and a 45 zone rating, if your continually dropping him into coverage, your not using that 98 finess moves rating and that can come back to bite you in the backside, i think if the eagles were to move to a 3-4 in real life cole would probably stand up but in the game i would stay away from that. i used to play gocong at end but his ratings have gone down so i just stick with parker. all of your guy's setups are good too it all depends on your style of play really.

paragraphs yo

and i agree on kolb. def one of the sleeper QBs in Fantasy drafts.

As for cole, if you put him at OLB in your 3-4 scheme i guess you can get him in your Sgibs GL blitzer spot but other than that its truely meh.

i mean i guess if you user him a ton it would be a great move but if you leave him for the CPU to controll i feel like people will take advantage of that.

yo shane real quick question, why dont u use patterson at all? he's gotta be my favorite D-lineman on the team besides bunk. thats another reason i dont use vick alot is cuz as soon as he comes out people start containing and QB spying and everything becomes a mess it seems like. but good setup man, what defense do you run? 4-3? 3-4? 46?

3-4 Linebackers BLITZ, lol. If you have D-Ware at ROLB or any OLB, 9-10 you will blitz him. Always remember PRESSURE > Coverage

Paterson is very average imo and it doesnt hurt that im not a big fan of him in real life either +Abimiri seems to get off the blocks alot better for some reason

4-3

lol, ya Vick=run I dont trust his arm for NOTHING!!! 60 accuracy across the board last time I checked

ah really??? ima huge fan of his dono why ive just always liked him and always played him now with his good ratings its even better for me, but here is how they stack up in case you change your mind.
patterson has 89 strenght abiamiri has 80
patterson has 89 tackle abiamiri has 71
patterson has 87 pursuit abiamiri has 79
patterson has 84 play recognition abiamiri has 54
patterson has 67 power moves abiamiri has 70
patterson has 79 finess moves abiamiri has 70

there both really close and can work well but i feel like patterson is a lil more stout against the run and can hold up a lil better on the inside but abiamiri deffenitly a good player, i like to play him at DE when i drop my DE's cuz he has a 60 zone rating and if im not mistaken thats tops for DE's in madden for at least LE i think im not sure though.

dont get me wrong you would be under utilizing the ealges D if you didnt find a way to use abiamiri cuz he's big fast and strong, as i said i love that zone rating he has cuz it allows me to use him in certain coverages and not have to worry, i think if you mix him in that would be fine but i dont think he'll hold up to well starting in the middle with bunk, but deffinetly use him, he's a fun lil toy you can play around with.

PostSubject: Re: eagles depth chart   Sat Feb 13, 2010 8:43 am

lol.. I would defintely not waste an 84 speed player at lineman..

ok I wrote this on another forum, and I don't feel like explaining it.. here it is: It proves that ratings for lineman don't matter if the CPU uses it.

Try this:

Use the Browns + NYJ Defensive Playbook
Play against any team, Use TWO controllers; Have the controller your using on your team, and one on the other team

Nickel 1-5-5, Cover 2 Sink
For Offense select a play in SG where only the lineman are blocking.
Sub in WR Josh Cribbs at CB.. leave him there for now..

Now use the R1 button and whatever direction to put all LBs in a Hook zone
So now you should only have one player rushing the QB.. that's Shaun Rogers
Control one of the LBs.. do not touch Shaun Rogers

Hike the ball and watch Shaun Rogers try to get through the line. (Don't throw the ball..)
After a few tries you'll notice it takes a long *** time.. you'll say duh because it's 5 people he's going against..

Well now try the exact same steps except user Shaun Rogers, and use the right stick left and right to do moves to get passed the offensive line..
You'll get through very easily.

Now do the exact same steps for Josh Cribbs, except put everyone rushing (all the LBs) in hook zones + add shaun rogers to the hook zone.. also blitz Josh Cribbs lol..

Now watch Josh Cribbs try to get passed the line by himself.. he doesn't do a good job..
But now try when you user Josh Cribbs.. He does a horrible job..

Josh Cribbs has a 10 rating in power moves.
Shaun Rogers has a 98 rating in power moves.

When you control the player, their power move ratings kick in...
when you don't user the player, the power moves rating hardly has an effect..

Josh Cribbs doesn't fall on the ground as much as he does when you use him.. when the CPU uses him, he's just an ordinary D-lineman

Shaun Rogers isn't as good as he is when you user him.. when the CPU uses him, he's just an ordinary D-lineman

So if you understood what I'm saying is this:

If defensive lineman's don't work to the full ability when the CPU uses the player, why should other ratings like that work to the full ability?

I remember when I was using the Broncos.. if you pressed Brandon Marshall.. he would not get off the line cleanly.. he has/had 99 release.

now eckspirement with players of varying play rec, pursuit, speed, height etc when spying and Containing them.

AFAIK Power Moves, Block shed and strength all help in the Pass rush game but really are indicators of a great run stuffer.

finesse move> power move when usering DL's in pass rush spots. again, imo from observation.

Yeah, that's only true whenever you user them. Defensive line stats do not work unless you use them. Try it. ._.
