| Granted i have only just started playing the 4-4 after watching some of the latest shows....but i am getting hit pretty hard down the Left as i defend (right as you look at screen) with WR In plays.
Hester especially with the Bears...obviously its something i am not doing....but any suggestions from the community as to how i counter it from that formation?
Another great show btw guys ....was it me or did Aaron Schatz sound like Ray Romano ...the guy knows his stuff thats for sure!

| Are you getting beat by like a 10 yd Dig route? (In route) or do you mean the actual play WR In. | |

| No getting beat big for 20 plus yards downfield on his timings, not everytime just enough to get me frustrated =)....he pulls it off maybe twice in a game but enough to swing the game.

And yeah i have checked his playbook its a straight WR In route. | |

| I would assume short post play or smart routed post from slot or wide right receiver. I know thats the area I would attack. I would man up on that side. Defenders play the slant better from that side they actually shade to the left or inside the receiver so man would not be that bad if the heat gets there. If not you need to watch him as he enter your zone defenders area. Or you can leave the zones. One key I don't think alot of people know about. Is if you hot route some one to a zone they guard no one until the reach their assigned area so hot routing some one to a zone then bringing them down over the receiver really does nothing as they will ignore and fall back into their assigned area. What it could do is fake out your opponent into believing he is covered; mind games thats what its about. However if they are already by default to zones they will guard the closest player all the way back to their assigned area. This is why gibbs is able to bring down the deep blue zone over the slot and have him defend in goal line D. This is also why compress set are hard to defend in zones they pick up the wrong offensive players. So I would keep this in mind when you are getting beat and trying to figure out why. I figure those are the routes because in the odd thats where most players attack me. So man it or move a defaulted zone plyer close to the receiver. | |
