Get xbox or ps3

Ok so i went to GS to see what they had to say about prices for the systems.
For xbox used:
119 xbox + 49 internal memory + 50 xbox live + 20 1 year warrenty (optional) = $238
For xbox new:
either 250 +50 xbox live= $300 or 300+50=$350 - depends how long they have the old systems in -

For ps3 used
119 + 49 internal memory +20 1 year warrenty = $188
For ps3 new
$300

So which should i go with. They said you need the internal memory not a memory card for online play. any adivce is appreciated. Also thanks colonel for your help and suggesting to ask GS.

off of this i would get the used ps3. any amount of money you can save is a win since u are goin to college.

MLG Madden is played on PS3.. but I believe most other tournaments are played on the Xbox.

Xbox has Halo 3.. and Halo: Reach is coming out.. [I want an Xbox just for Halo.]


PS3 has a better controller layout.. They don't have a crappy D-pad.
PS3 has no payment required for online service.

Since you are buying a used Xbox, it's probably not the new Xbox Slim.. which means if you want to connect to Xbox Live wirelessly, you'll need a wireless adapter which costs $75 to $100.

PS3 has blu-ray playback built in. You'll have to spend an extra $100 just to watch blu-rays.
Blu-ray discs can hold larger data. If you play a game like Final Fantasy, having just one disc is VERY convenient. If you have an Xbox, you get to use 3 different discs to play one game..




To sum it up, It only does EVERYTHING.

Thanks for the advice guys. If my roomate doesn't get one then I will go with the ps3 for the price and the stuff wang said (I'm getting the tv).

I bought an HD TV for $370 from Walmart.. It's a Vizio; I love it.. It's a 34" or 37" ; I can't remember what it is.. but it's awesome so if you are getting a TV, then get a Vizio .lol.

Ahh, the age old question! The new xbox is looking nice and the slim ps3 has caught my eye many a time! Good luck, i have no opinion, if its strictly a cash situation then go for...

I'd get the new PS3 since I put more trust into Sony then Microsoft. Plus i'v had the PS1,PS2,and now the PS3 and they have all worked great and never broke down besides a sticky open button on the PS1.

Oh, i meant that i was the one getting the tv for our dorm. I'm either getting a 26" vizio or lg
