| I'm not saying I'm the guy for the job, but it seems a little odd that the best FB in Madden has been cut. Tony Richardson, 94 OVR; Last year I believe he was a 97 OVR, was cut by the Jets today.
If he truly is the best at his position, why would they cut him & risk another team picking him up? Do you see any of the other best players at their position being cut?
List of players that are the best at their position based on OVR in Madden:
QB: Brees, Manning - 99 OVR RB: Chris Johnson - 99 OVR FB: Tony Richardson - 94 OVR WR: Andre Johnson - 98 OVR TE: Tony Gonzalez - 98 OVR LT: Ryan Clady - 98 OVR LG: Steve Hutchinson - 97 OVR C: Nick Mangold - 97 OVR [next best: 92 OVR] RG: Jahri Evans - 98 OVR [next best 96, then 89] RT: John Stinchcomb - 90 OVR
LE: Robert Mathis - 95 OVR RE: Jared Allen - 99 OVR DT: Kevin Williams - 97 OVR LOLB: Jon Beason - 97 OVR MLB: Patrick Willis - 99 OVR ROLB: DeMarcus Ware, James Harrison - 97 OVR CB: Darrelle Revis - 99 OVR FS: Ed Reed - 97 OVR SS: Troy Polamalu - 97 OVR
K: Robbie Gould, Nate Kaeding - 95 OVR P: Shane Lechler - 98 OVR
I don't see any of those players being cut.. anytime soon.. other than the aged players.. like Tony Gonzalez; He'll probably be cut only because he's going to retire.. and he'll probably sign a 1-day contract with the Chiefs so he can "retire as a Chief" even though we will remember the Gonzalez in the Falcons jersey.. anyway..
I think it's a bit weird that the best player in his position was cut.. Another thing, why are there no RT that have better than 90 OVR? Is the league really suffering that bad for RTs? It could be that in the NFL the RT position is basically made for people that couldn't make it at LT.. You have to be agile for a LT.. Maybe this is why? It's like the dumpster position for lineman.. they throw away players into that position.. No idea..

| it will be interesting to see how things shake out when the roster update comes out. for example, the packers kept sam shields, a cb with a ton of speed. i am just going to be a complete packer homer and pray the madden ratings guy gives shields an awesome speed rating.
i am sure a lot of people will be upset once they get the ratings for some of their favorite players! no one is ever pleased with overall ratings... just ask tj housh!

| Tony Richardson was cut because he is getting old, and the jets have two young guys that are potential studs, it all comes down to revis's new contract extention, the jets had to make huge cut backs on their expenses because of revis's selfish ***... the minimun pay for a player of richards experience is atleast 850,000 a year, while a rookies is half that.
Tony richardson is the best fullback in the leauge, but he also is the oldest and requires more money to be on a team.
Im not sure if many of you know this, but the minimum salary for players is based upon their years in the league... They also had to cut lavernous coles, but they are going to resign him to a less pricey contract.

| lol Yeah I know that, but I would think another team would snatch him up if he is as good as he costs.
Anyway, he was resigned so it doesn't matter LOL..

| because Jon Conner is a animal
looking long term they see more value in keeping Conner and releasing Richardson.
They also have 3 QB's Sanchez, Brunell, and Clemons

| yeah Jon "the terminator" Conner is an absolute beast, he scares me and I'm not even on the field.
And another point i would say about cutting "the best" fullback in the league, is that imo the "best" full back isn't as valuable as the best player at any other position.
They released him and resigned him because they didn't want to have to guarantee him any money, lol F-ing cheep a$$es.

| 99% of the time the best tackle on a team will be the LT. This is to cover the quarterbacks blind side from people like D ware, doom, jared allen, etc. 1% of the time would be for the left handed qbs | |

Yeah I know that, but why would the best right tackle be a 90 OVR? You would think that there has to be some great talent at that position..

Yeah I get what you mean, there are a couple guys who are probably being slighted. I consider Ryan Harris to be one the best in the league at RT but I agree with his rating. They always talk about how Denver has two bookend tackles but there is a huge difference between Clady and Harris.

He took a step back this year, but I don't know how you better 0.5 sacks given up.. I'm just glad Clady may be back for the opener.. I hope he stays out actually.. I don't want him to come back too soon.. He's a great LT..
