Sim league discrace

Hey.. wanted to tell about an experience I just had in a sim league I was playing in. I can't believe it and I will forever be very skeptical of "sim" leagues because of it. Let me apologize right now for the long message.

So I am playing the commissioner of the league in my 3rd game of the season. I run my first quarter using mostly 1-5-5 nickel and I routinely bump and run and pinch the LBs on most of my plays. At some point he sends a message that I can't "stack the box" unless it is a short yardage situation. OK stupid rule but I stop pinching the LBs but I continue to bump and run pretty much the whole game. At the end of the game he is down 2 TDs with like 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I go to a quarter defense where I call 3-Deep Press most of the time and I still press Y and down to get the bump.. My main worry at this point is to not give up any big plays and not let the WRs get off the line easy. I have 3 safeties deep so I am not really worried about getting beat deep if I press. He starts running the ball for some reason and picking up 8-10 yards each play but I stick with my play because I know it is a clock game now. I did start pinching my Dline though just to make him have to go outside. So basically I have 4-5 guys in the box is all.. SAfeties are like 20 yards up the field. I win the game 20 - 7 or something like that.

Immediately he starts complaining about me and saying if I have 1 more complaint he will kick me out of the league. I ask why and he first says I was crowding the box. I'm thinking, 5 guys in the box and a quarter defense is crowding?

The he claims I won because of rule violations. Up to this point I figure he is talking about the 4th quarter crowding. And I say whoa dude.. you were down 2 scores at that point. Then he says he actually lost because I was pressing every down. I say, I don't remember that being in the rules but if so, I'm sorry. Go ahead and take me out of the league because that is too restrictive for me.

Then I go back and check the rules. There is no single mention of a rule about bump and run or press coverage. Nada. I call him out on it and he goes ballistic, will not answer the simple question of where is the rule. Keeps calling me a cheesy player and a cheater. Keeps bringing others into the conversation to vouch for him that it is a rule but no one can say where the rule is. Then he starts complaining that I get Bush (I'm the Saints) at WR even though I do it using the WR Slot package, not a substitution.

So, I can't believe that "SIM" is carried so far. First of all, he keeps complaining that me "crowding the box" is taking advantage of the game and breaking rules. Well, if he takes advantage of the rule by adjusting his game to what he knows I cannot do due to the rules... isn't that the same thing? He knew I could not blitz and could not "crowd the box" so he runs the ball. That is BS. But then to make up a rule that does not exist and then chew me out for not knowing it and abiding by it?

That is Disgraceful!!!!

So, if you are reading this Scalaid6, commish. of the DOB "SIM" league. You are a disgrace and so is anyone who supports you in what you did. You guys know there was no rule but you are going to call me out and call me a cheater? Look in the mirror. You can go and change the rule and claim it was always there but I know what you did. Maybe if you spent less time worrying about whether your opponent is abiding by all the fictitious rules you have and just played the game like a man, you might have won. I thought you were cool, but now I just think you are a pathetic baby with no integrity.

You should join the EAFL. There are very few rules.

Yeah, he turned out to be quite the douche bag. At first I thought hey, this sim stuff might not be so bad but it really can be a two edged sword. They put in the these rules to try and make it realistic but the one point of realism they sacrifice when they do that is that a real coach or coordinator can do WHATEVER they think is best to help them win. They don't have rules like (can only blitz on 2 downs out of every 4.. cannot press more than twice in 4 downs). All that does is make it possible for players to take advantage of it. Once I see someone blitz twice, I know I have a free pass on the next down and I can call a play appropriate for that situation. That is not sim at all.

Plus, I don't have the time or the energy to sit and figure out every single thing a person is doing against me. I am worried about my plays and my reads etc. How am I going to sit and make sure he never puts a HB at WR, or count how many times he has pressed me on defense. Stupid.

wow really lmao..thats pathetic..bump n run is in real nfl ALL the time the good recievers beat it and get deep for a td(unless safety help over the top) but seriously its not unrealistic..

EAFL doesnt allow known glitches or exploits, BUT you can play any style you want. Who cares if you run hurry up or press every down, there are counters to everything.

The main problem with a SIM league or anyone that proclaims they are SIM is that there is no known formula for a SIM player/leauge. They vary from league to league and player to player. Thats why SIM does NOT exist in my mind. There is to broad a view of the matter.

When I say I'm a tourny player I'm saying that I dont play with any known BLATENT glitches, other then that it is 100% freestyle.

The EAFL is the best league hands down for competitive Madden and even SIM madden. Theres room for everyone. If your good enough you will also get Madden Fed points.

Currently I'm 3-0 in the EAFL majors...lets just hope I can go all the wya to get the Madden Fed Points!!!!!

Yeah. I feel a little better after getting some support from my MB Bros.

I am waiting to hear back on my EAFL applications. I hear it just takes time.
