Whats a good defensive play or scheme if you want to defend the pass primarily but still want to contain the run at the line of scrimmage?

I have a hard time stopping the run within the 46 playbook. Late in games when i need a stop I simply can't get it if I'm going up against a good player that pounds the rock. I try making adjustments but when they have audibles(such as toss, counter) I have a difficult time. I usually user the MLB or Safety... HELP?

Do the hash marks effect how you run offense?

I've heard pros talk about hash marks and what not

being on either hash marks changes the angles of routes, so if ur on the right, if u got a hard angle route.. it should cut upfield more

Hash marks are most important for sb bunch and snugs users who use alot of slant outs.

Hey maddenbible nation. Haven't been on or around the forums or seen any shows for a really long time. Life has been too busy for any time to really get into madden much. Getting engaged, and having 3 jobs over 4 months can do that...

Sorry for that little rant. Now i started off the year with madden 11 right when it came out. I thought the qb spy blitz ruined the game, so i decided to just stay away from playing it. I've played a few games here and there, but didn't really play that much. I had heard that the game was a lot better about a month ago, and since then haven't stopped playing. I've labbed with many high level oppenents, one in particular that im good friends with a guy named xxtopbossxx whos 44 or something like that in top 100, and a guy named readtro who doesnt play ranked very much, but does have a 200-80 record on ranked.

Now my question for twim is does run blocking footwork really account for anything needed on the offensive line. Its really tough for me and my friend readtro to decide. I know that pass blking stats arent very important, but ive found that the run blocking ones are. It seems that if one has an O-line in a franchise league with michael oher at center, and ryan clady at left guard and jahri evans at right guard, then some scrubby lineman at tackles that have great rblking too, it seems that it is impossible to stop the runs up the middle. I was just wondering what your guys' thoughts were on olineman ratings, specifically in the run game.

Thank you.

Sincerely PREY

No it doesn't. Only thing that matter is impact blocking. You want to find your favorite run play and put your best impact blocker at the position thats pulling. If you don't have a puller, i just focus on run block strength. But my best advice is to find a puller in your favorite run play. The most things that ruin runs are DT's and DE's shedding blocks stupid fast, so the more run blocks strength and strength your O-line has, the less chance you have to have that happen. Congrats on getting married, im getting married may first. I work 2 jobs, but luckily for one i get paid for 8 hours and only work about 4-5 each day, and the other is down the street from my home. Good luck with your marriage and once again congrats!
