Penalties!!!!!

is there anyone out there besides me that thinks that EA should remove Holding, clipping, and face masks..

How many of us have had our games changed because of a stupid penalty?

Yes it does provide a more realistic game. But does it provide a better game?
Something as simple as a 10 yard holding penalty has cost me countless drives that had big time implications on the game.

I don't think that it is fair or provides a better game because none of us have any say in any of these penalties, they are completely random and can cost you the game.

And i don't like to lose games to people because of random chance!

that always happens to me.
They also need to make sure that pass interfernece gets called. Play my freinds all the time and he will hit sitck me when the ball isnt half way there and they will call nothing.

o and about a month ago i lost a game in overtimr from a holding call in my own endzone, brutal

I think they all should stay. without facemask ppl would just hold down the stip ball button without any care in the world ( i knw i would)

and some holds and clips come from a sudden change in flow with the ball carrier. which is understandable to me

you could make an argument to get rid of cliping an holding but facemask needs to stay

ok i could deal with the Facemasks but holding and clipping must go!

Jay, you and I have talked about this before. I think you can get rid of clipping but holding has to stay. WF is right when he said most come from "change in flow with the ball carrier".

If you remove them, it takes away the realism that EA is trying so hard to achieve.

honestly i don't think you can prove that it comes from the "change in flow with the ball carrier" its just a theory

That doesn't explain random holding penalties on pass plays

but like i said to you before, if they are gonna leave holding penalties in the game they need to put the passive/aggressive options for line blocking like they have in NCAA

I would imagine that players that have a higher awareness would be less likely to commit penalties, which is why they keep the penalties in the game in the first place.

There must be an algorithm or something where when a defensive player and an offensive player engage that there is a likeliness of a hold, facemask or whatever, where a rookie might be more apt to having a penalty rather than the more seasoned veteran.

Annoying yes, but you can't get rid of it.

i love it when your getting tackled, and u break it, and immediatly the flag icon flashes...

or if ur laying on the ground and the flag comes out...

it really is BS...

if they are gonna have it the need to explain how it works, if its the O line awareness fine but let me know so i can set my depth chart!!!

I think that all tourneys should force people to decline holding and Clipping

holding calls CLIPPING!!!! FML total game changers!!!! its like someone just punched you right in the DICK when you get a TD called back cuz of a CLIP lol has happened to me so many times...... especially with the raiders they get called for penalties all the time, GIBS can attest to this after one of his GOTW's lol he had like 6 holding calls or sumthin rediculous

and have the time your out in the open field and the penalty had no direct impact on the outcome of the play like i run a toss right and my square REC gets flagged BUSH League EA BUSHHHH LEAGUE!!

agreed. the holding is not cool. and especially when you break a big run. annoying.

Penalties happen in real football don't u guys think that penalties have costed teams games in real life if anything they need to add more penalties like pass interferance

I like the realism of the penalties, however they always seem to be one sided. I will have a game where I get 6 or 7 penalties loose 5 key players to injury and fumble the ball three times while my opponent will not get a single penalty or fumble. How are you suppose to overcome a game like that?

You aren't.

Just another ploy by Ian Cummings to allow anyone to pick up the sticks and compete in Madden 11. Stuff like that is not able to be overcome, if the beneficiary has half a brain...

in online franchise games they dont seem to call pass interference after 5 yards, i played a league game last night were the opponent was taking his saftey and holding up the WR from getting to the ball or even getting to the yellow circle, no penalty was called, had it done more than once as well

should actually add more penalties...defensive pass interefence is never called unless u hitstick a wr..too many times guys run infront you and slow down..should be called

none of these penalties are user conrotrolled so they should be removed

nothing worse than running down the field and watching a defender chasing you and your blocker behind him nail him even though you have 10 yards and no chance of being tackled
