| I just played a ranked game and it went to OT.
THE other guy got the ball first and went down and scored a FIELD GOAL.
I never touched the ball and lost even though he kicked a field goal.
Can i get this clarified because i thought if you kicked a field goal now and your oppent didnt touch the ball in OT i thought i got a chance to score.

| that is only in the playoffs.
regular season games the rules are that in overtime first team to score wins.
in playoffs, you would have gotten the ball back there and would have needed to score at least 3 points to keep the game going | |

| to further clarify, playoff rules for OT are as follows:
If the first team to get the ball scores a touchdown, the game is over.
If the first team to get the ball scores a FG, the other team gets a chance with the ball and has to hit a FG to keep game going or a touchdown to win. If the 2nd team with the ball fails to score then the game is over.
If the first team scores a FG, 2nd team scores a FG, then the next team to score wins no matter what. | |

| EA put the playoff OT rules in as the ranked game OT rules though...thats weird | |

But yes, ranked games are supposed to use the playoff overtime rules... | |
