Ranked Games

I get that most great players think ranked games are meaningless. I realize that they can only be played on All Pro which is garbage. I will say that I have not run into a glitcher as near as I can tell. However, I gotta say my game confidence is taking a major hit. I started out 5-1 against players within 3 skill levels which I thought was okay considering I was a total noobie before Gunfused and the rest of my Madden Bible family began to tutor me. The issue is I have now dropped 6 of my last 7 games getting me to 6-7. One game I was playing a lvl 12 and had him until McFadden began to fumble even when I covered up. He also started shaking his secondary which was just strange. Another two games, I had a lvl 3 guy and in the second half of each game had 10 drops due to the LB strip technique. The final straw was last night I threw a flat route to an open receiver and the ball appeared to go through the receiver to the DB for a pick 6, which was promptly followed up by a Vince Wilfork int on a inside slant. I am also pretty sure he was doing a no assignment blitz as he kept putting guys into the a gap which looked like they should have been off sides. Sorry for the vent but I am a little frustrated. I figured I would continue to win pretty consistently and now I feel snake bitten. Anyone get in a slump like this and how the hell do you get out? I was close to getting to level 2 and I am now so far away. I can't imagine how some of you got to double digit levels.....just totally frustrated & discouraged at this point

just got to switch it up... find a new team/new pbs...

I play a lot of ranked games. I don't really have time to keep up with leagues or franchises but I can always hop on a play a ranked match. I started off playing with the Cardinals to the tune of an 11-13 record. Then I made the switch to the panthers and turned things around. The thing with the panthers is if I try to do too much and put things on Clausen's back I will lose. It only takes 1 lame duck pass from him to remind me of that and I keep things short and sweet and pound the rock.

Strange things do happen in ranked matches. I can't even tell you how many tipped miracle passes and fluke fumbles have cost me games. I can tell you that I have been on the winning side of these plays as well and I only remember the losses.

I think its all about putting in the time and taking your lumps, every loss should be a learning experience. Recognize what your strengths and weaknesses are. This goes for the team you are using as well as your play calling and user ability. There is always a play or an adjustment to beat or limit any scheme you face. If you can make your adjustments early in the game your opponent will be like "OH sh!t what do I do now" especially against lower ranked guys. Higher ranked opponents will have multiple schemes to throw at you.

Ball Control will win you a lot of games. There are times when I feel like I will never stop this guy from scoring. The only thing to do is to limit the amount of time he has on offense. These type of players will get very frustrated when your on a 12 play drive and they haven't touched the ball the entire quarter. When they do get it back they will be anxious and try to score quicker. Call all out coverage plays and make them dink and dunk the ball or try to force a throw for a pick. Maybe you won't win every game this way but I guaranty you will be in a close game and will have a great opportunity to win.

Like Chad said also a change of team or play book may be what you need also. I am on my 4th or 5th team and probably my 10th play book. Guys are starting to get wise to Dallas and 46 D.

i think the worst i had was a 3 game losing streak..the thing that makes me upset is i know i should of won the game but it was either a guy fumbling or some guy braking 10 tackles for a td..

the thing is u need to find out why you are losing...if he's killing u on defense..u need to find a formation to counter that or maybe u need another team..i know u were coached but if the raiders arent workin dont hesitate to try another team..also go in practice mode find some more plays it never hurts to have more

I play ranker matches, i got to about 103 wins and like 40 losses before my disc got laser burnt. About half my losses were due to glitches, its just something that you have to deal with, but its annoying when you're about to win with a few seconds left then you get pause glitched and then its an hour of your life wasted

ummm....dont get frusturated...we all will have that time frame when we feel like we are unbeatable, then sometimes its like its a struggle to get a win against inferior players. The biggest thing to get from losing is why u lost....like for example, U kept throwing streaks against a cover 4 all game and thats why u lost so I need to impliment shallow routes just incase....or u kept passing into allout coverage everygame, so next game ima try to be more balanced running the ball....

You will always run into that someone that uses something u have never seen before and it will throw u off.

Learning to be able to adjust is something u caint buy from ebooks...its a time process..

I been plying since 08, but this is my first full season in c4 majors...I feel like a noobie compared to these other guys lmao...trust me, the c4 competition is waaaaayyyy more intense then ranked games and Im a pretty high level for ranked games... so I know how u feel bout being a noob.

It takes time to be good at the game, use this madden as a learning curve...Learn what other players do that makes them better then others. In 08, I wasnt even good.. To be honest I didnt become good till the end of '10. (meaning I know exactly how to play the game..like I can use anyformation at random, and make it work)

@Lotto- if u want receivers to hold on to the ball and u dont want issues fumbling....dont use the raiders lmao...

want to hear my thought on john madden football 2011, anyone can beat anyone. Heres my digression I have played some of the top in the game and beat them and really haven't struggled, yet i play people who aren't as good. maybe the person i beat, beat them by 21 but i lose by 10. some people play a certain way and i lose to them almost consitently different people have trouble against different people i dont care who you are.

on topic just hit the lab man as chad said give yourself give yourself a new look.

@Megatron_81 Thanks man. I have a feeling most receivers would keep dropping it the way this guy used the LB when guys caught passes - he even messaged me and said that was the difference in the game.

i just started playing online last year. never got past level 1. this year im at 4 and may hit 5. The more game you play the better you seem to be able to adjust and start to recognize formations.

I feel your pain on the dropped passes! I been using the Boyz just for that reason and these fools keep dropping passes. I'm making the reads, getting the separation and putting it on the numbers just to have Mr. Hands Miles Austin continually put it on the ground. Then I get that one on one with Dez and put a perfect pass over the shoulder and I get that dumb *** CB reach over your back animation for an incompletion.

I'm playing this cat last night he's the Gmen and I'm the Broncos. Tough game in the snow and wind. I finally get up by 10 points in the third quarter. He kicks a field goal, 7 point lead my ball. I return the kick for TD, but wait HOLDING. I get a field goal out of it, he returns the kick 99 yards for the td with ever bronco slinding around like their making snow angels. Now he's back in a game that I should have already won. Way to much drama at 2:00 in the AM when all I wan't to do is win and go to bed.

@ronslows, they say that its already predetermined who wins the game.not saying you have no control over it, but the penalties at crunch time? the holdings after the long kick return? all of a sudden a trashy a$$ DB have magical powers? fumbling? these things happen in the game, but when it happens consistently to you and not the other guy, or vice versa it makes you wonder.i can relate to you bruh.

Getting better I am now a level 2. I know that is nothing significant but coming from noob status I am pretty excited. I am also on a 6 game winning streak. Last 2 games my opponent conceded defeat at the start of the 4th quarter Thank you Madden Bible Family - YOU ALL ARE THE BEST. My game would not have improved without my coach Gunfused, Gibs, Farls, Chad, Megatron, Robe and the rest of my Madden Bible family!!!!!!!!! Thank you all!!!!
