| After an 11 game win streak on ranked games, I decided to shake things up and try a new o book. I switched from the Cowboys to Carolina - my own scheme to try to be somewhat original Things have not gone well. I was 17-7 before the change closing in (680 points think u need 700) on level 3, by a game or two, after the change I went 11-13, now standing at 28-20. Points below 400. I am thinking its either time to switch back or try another book. Not sure what to do just pretty down about the negative trend. A couple of observations I made during the free fall. I have no run game with the Carolina Book. Add that to Campbell's erratic throws on some easy passes, receiver drops and unexpected defensive collapses in the second half from trying to be to aggressive in getting the rock back. Not good. I am even considering scrapping the 46 on D. Back to the drawing board to find an identity on both sides of the ball and see if I can get up another level. Not that it matters but I would like to get to a double digit level before Madden 12 comes out. No particular reason other than that is a goal I can set. Learning this game sure has huge ups and downs, at least for me. | |

either way with a qb like cambell i would get my short pass game going first then work your way deeper

| Stick with the book that u win with, Get comfortable with a given book and stick to it
No need to change it up if it winning!!
Sometimes when u change books it's because of a certain play or formation, and u spend way to much time running that formation, dig deep into ur playbook for other plays that can get u 3 to 4 yards Ur opponent will be so set on stopping ur main formation so if u sneak in something else they haven't seen yet, u might squeeze in a couple of big first downs or or maybe a touchdown

I guess I wanted to take a break from the boat and see if I could create my own scheme from scratch - not there yet I'm afraid. Appreciate your feedback - you guys make this community the BEST!

Might have to give that a try. Been using Campbell full time cause of the deep ball potential. Thanks!

| Stay with the same book it's so easy switch but it's a waste of time just build on your current scheme and base your scheme around man and zone beaters. Also don't be too predictable throw out of your running sets. I've been using so many 2 wr sets lately. | |

Gotcha. My running isn't great - will throwing from running sets still be as effective? I put all my highest RBS lineman as starters but still get jammed up by block shedding lineman even if I snap with receivers in the gaps. Is there something else I can do to make the run more effective. Don't know how some guys can play the whole game throwing a hand full of times SMH.

| Build a scheme around 2-3 formations tops, when you have a bunch of different formations you use it sometimes makes it difficult in play calling on offense. Especially if you have a play that forces the defense to focus on stopping that play and just build from there. | |

Offense - I think my Carolina scheme must have been predictable - as it would lose effectiveness as the game went on. Plus Campbell/Drops put me behind the 8 ball on several occasions. Could not get the ground game going so when I was ahead I could not close out the games. The D collapse came from being over aggressive in trying to get the ball back for my sputtering offense. It snowballed. I would make adjustments here and there to try to tweak it but 11-13 not gonna get it done.

| The raiders are the fastest team to use and defensively give you a great advantage, however offensively they may have speed but mcfadden and miller are there only true skill players. Try a couple of games with the Saints or Cowboys and see what it's like to have an accurate qb with receivers that catch everything you throw up and you just might second guess the raiders. I like to air out deep passes and with the raiders that strategy just doesn't work. 20 yard overthrows to wide open receivers will get you out of your gameplan and mindset. On the flipside of not using the raiders maybe you would tone down your aggressiveness on D and play more of a bend but don't break and pick your spots to be aggressive. | |

| I have used Dallas all year until recently switched to 49ers book, think I like it better even...
But I did find dallas to be the best book for myself to run out of, especially with raiders, also in a lot of ranked games (I play them out of boredom when I don't play league games) I found if you can run and pass out of strong close in dallas its very hard and frustrating for your opponent to lock up HB dive,HB toss, HB counter, passing to the flats with the FB if its man, then they switch to zone and just flood one side with the streak and post and a TE drag....you can even Four vertical scheme them from strong close....just make it all look the same....
Iam similiar to you Lotto in the fact I didn't really start playing online ranked games a lot until this year, my stick skills are below average, iam just now user-picking, I got to level 11 pretty quick on ps3 by using the boat..my biggest break through came when I was reading man/zone every play and have audibles and quick audibles to beat it, like was mentioned previously...but don't sweat ranked to much, I beat some level 18 guy once and all he did was run stick all game with eagles, and if stick was covered he streaked d.jax and had a slant in to the middle, once I locked that play up he had nothing....then I have also been beat by level 2 players who run and throw to the flats and milk clock all game....all-pro is silly most of the time.... Run DMC on the strong close HB dive on all-pro is just unfair! Lol
Your winning ways will come back! Just keep plugging away, dallas book has a lot to offer, the plays are there...
