Complete and utter Madden Noob/Football Noob

Hi!

My apologies if anything such as this is covered anywhere on the forums/site but I've been unable to find it so...

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Madden, never played it before and I just picked up the PS3 version and am finding myself VERY much out of my league in terms of setup. When it comes to the actual post snap playing of the game I'm not horrific as that side is quite intuitive. I am, however, horrific prior to that. As I have only been watching football for a few(2) years I only have a limited knowledge of the game.

Are there any simple tips anyone can offer to get me started?
