Anyone ever seen this?

So I'm in a Franchise league, that was one of my 1st leagues, but lately the guys have been rediculous. As I usually put up some serious points on most of the guys. Anyway I'm playing this guys in week 3 and I had just scored in 1 play 8 seconds and it was 21-0 me 2nd quarter, I'm out of timeouts, he has the ball and I get the ball after half. There was less then 2 minutes left. He gets the ball and is so worried about me getting the ball back before half he took 3 QB kneels in a row, to end the 1st half. Now I would understand if he was getting ball after half, but he wasn't I did and scored. He wasn't even trying to win, which if I remember my lessons from Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game!" right? Anybody fill me in on this new strategy

Yeah I have had the same thing happen recently, iam also in a league,that was the first one I joined, and the competition is below average at best, and I was winning 28-7 ,(already taking it easy) beggining of 3rd Quarter, the guy gets the ball, and starts milking the clock to get the game over with faster...lol

3 yard runs,and 3 yard passes, ticking all the playclock off in the process.....

I sent him a msg saying he could quit,since we are in second half, if he didn't wanna finish it out NBD to me..

He replied, 'no I still want stats with my players'

I was confused he wasn't attempting to come back? And try to win, but wanted 1-3 yard rushing gains? LOL

If you weren't so worried about running up the score it wouldn't have bothered you.

That guy you are complaining about is 50+ years old and plays for fun in our CASUAL LEAGUE

I play to win the game. I am not going to play this game worried if I'm going to hurt someone's feelings. Offense has always been the best part of my game, and that means score, score, score. Cause you never know when they might get a comeback going.

Yeah you always want to score, but you don't want to be an ******* by running it up... Testing new plays on bad players doesn't really help your offense anyway.. If I'm up by 28, I'll go into clock drain mode.. unless in C4/MRL. I like to have good sportsmanship. I never dive into the end zone on TDs unless it's necessary.. [aka someone about 2 tackle me.] I hate when people do it to me.. and usually when they do, I end up coming back to win/destroy them if I'm ahead.

I do that too. If I know Im not going to win the game, why should I pass and risk another mistake to make it worse than it is?

I will never run the score up on someone. Im not saying its wrong to do it being that this is a game. If I go back to my football coaching days "CWC" Compete with Class. Im not saying you dont have class if you do, just giving my thoughts.

To be honest, I have done what happened to GETSUM, last MRL Season vs Gibs. HE was beating me 24-3. I threw a pic 6 in the 3rd, then another in the 4th 38-3 with 3min and change. I said to myself, "I need to get the F$%^ out of this game" lol. I didnt run clock but I just ran base Offense. BTW it was 7-3 at half, I had a really bad second half.

I've ran the clock in a losing game as well. I was simply out matched and I wanted to finish the game. Finish what you start.

My opponent was classy tho and ran the clock when he noticed I was doing the same.

there has been a time when i was down and just took a knee so i could get out of the half

I dive when i make plays, and i never run up there, i'd rather punt and play defense, defense is fun. On the last drive with like 30 secs, i will just try and score just because i want, nothing against my opponent.

i wont take a knee but ill just run the ball or hike throw to keep the clock moving.
and the i play this year i dont really get blown out because i posses the ball and it never really gets out of control for either of us
