| ok, if i was playing with oakland or the jets or denver, a team with a shutdown corner basically, and i came up against a team with dominate recievers, ie; falcons (tony and roddy) or dallas (witten, bryant, austin) who would put that shutdown on? would it be the TE or the WR? this is a delima for me, lol. can i get u guys input please? | |

| I leave my depth chart as is and let the chips fall where they may.
I havent use defensive assignments in a long time.
Howevre I would put my best DB on my opponents BEST FASTEST player.
For example if I was the raiders I would put namdi on Miles Austin and NOT on Teddy Williams. make sense?

| Depends on how my opponent is playing. I usually start out focusing on who I feel is the bigger threat - Roddy White, to go with your ATL example. But if Tony G. gets 4 catches in the first quarter, I'd probably focus on him more. | |

| Vs say the Falcons YOU MUST STOP RODDY!!!!!!
You want your best guy on roddy
Try to stop tony by playcalling but if it isnt working so be it. let tony get his....his run after catch abilities are not great...Roddy on the other hand can take it to the house at any time.

But i usually just leave my depth chart as is (seeing as i have no shutdown guys there is no point in moving ppl around) but i just let by d scheme do its job and leave it at that

| there is no shutdown corner it is M11, revis isnt even close hes too short and not fast enough. The best corner is DRC, then CRO. Also face throws are extremely hard to stop regardless of the corner. As for man assignemnts mega uses man assignments and was talking about it in a party chat yesterday. I think he can give some good input on it. | |

Only for snugs, bunch, tight doubles or any man switchy formation.... People who base their offense on man switches are pretty awful when u take away the switches....but I normally dont do it unless im playin for somethin meaningful. But for this topic, If its in your interest to set ur assignments, then u want to put the best cb on ur opponents main threat. If a dude is throwing to dez bryant every rip then put aso on him... or if a dude is putting a te out wide and throwing it to him, put the cb on him........

| I do exactly what gibs says..
Best Fastest WR..
I'd never put a CB on a TE unless it's Finley or Gates.. and I'd put a SS on them.. 6'2" guy..
