| to know that Al has died feels weird to me. i may show my age with this but, i can remember back in the 70s i was a HUGE Raiders fan and just loved (and deep down in my heart i still do) my Silver and Black. although i was born in New Jersey and raised in New York, my Dad's job moved us around alot, in the 70s we lived in Riverside, California, Al Davis and the Raiders was all i knew as a youngster then! and although i am back on the East Coast and i am a HUGE Ravens fan and bleed the black and purple now, the Raiders will ALWAYS be my second team of choice no matter how horrible their record is.
Rest in Peace Al Davis
Thanks for all of my childhood memories of cheering for; "The Raaaaaaiders!"

| No, for real, though. This changes how the Raiders will be run. I heard he still made phone calls down to the sideline, and faxes hand drawn plays that he wants to try...
His drafting mentality has always been to get athletes over football players. Mike Mitchell is a TERRIBLE second round pick...but you see how he impacts Oakland in Madden...This is exactly what I'm talking about.
To parlay this into how it affects Madden, I forsee the downfall of the "speed" concept in the coming years, and the Raiders will get back to a more traditional style of pro football, with possession receivers. There will be spots for DHB and Jacoby Ford, but they won't be nearly as active as they are now. | |

| And take my joking lightly. He's a well respected, yet stubborn man.
