PSP 3 controller

Has anyone had any luck with any of the aftermarket controllers they offer for the PSP3? I have one that I bought that is similar to the xbox controller with the stick where the analog stick is on the psp controller but it would disconnect mid game, not cool when you get hit sticked because you cant control the player. I have wore the rubber off my psp controller stick

i only have the stock ps3 controllers..the only way to go
