| How do you learn to "read" plays? I'm trying to learn which WR I look to first, second, etc. when I pick a play. I still catch myself looking at one WR and staring at him until he gets open, and I know that's not right. What do I have to do to find out which WRs are which reads? | |

Dont need to put them IN the gap, just slide ur LBs to where they are covering OVER their respective gaps helping maintain gap integriity. If ur having trouble with runs, pm me the defensive formation u use and and type of runs that give you fits

Its hard to give you an accurate answer if ur question isnt specific... Double cover him.

| that one is ez, Got 3 solutions for your Megatron problem
1. if u notice he is on the right, send heat off the right.. Make stafford run into the opposite direction Mega is in, if he wants to throw it, it will have to be cross field, and across his body.
2. User cover him.. Its rare if you are controlling a cb and manually watching a certain WR that they will actually throw it to em.
3. Double or even triple coverage him. Make it so if he wants to throw it to em, its gonna be a risky pass.
Your Optimal Defender is Chris Gamble.. And id try to have Martin over the top, so u have 2 6'0" defenders on him.. and its easier to get a swat.
hope this helps

| I'm running strong close formation and trying to run. lately I'm running into guys with great run D and none of the plays are working - dive, toss/counter. Doesn't matter if it's man or zone (although I typically only try counter/toss against man). This isn't standard run d, these guys are doing some good work. So the question is when you find somebody who can shut down the run, are there some plays/strategies you can use to still run the ball since it's ugly to depend on passing 100% when guys can start blitzing with zone plays and waiting for your guys to drop passes or throw picks.
I also use off tackle, but with no success in these last few games.
For what it's worth, I'm using the cowboys and running bryant across the formation to help block and the other scenario I'm in a league with a fantasy draft so the line is mixed personnel.
One last question - does the playbook make any difference between play success? For example - Cowboys, Panthers, Texans all have Strong Close, they all have dive, counter/toss. Does one book garner better success for the plays than any other?

| Pm me on the defensive formation that gives you trouble.
On another note, cowboys arnt that great of a running team ( even tho murray has been a beast ), its the oline problems... We lost a couple anchors in free agency and the replacements arnt that great right now. So if you are playing against defenses with good dlines, then yr going to have trouble period.
As strategy that will help you in the long run is sometimes you gotta pass to open up the run gm. And it works the other way around as well.
Strong close - well to be honest, it has the versatility to attack both sides of the center running the ball, but its more of a passing formation. But it is perhaps top 5 formations in madden for past few years. Imo, its missing a very important type run for me. It attacks the A and C gap nicely, but its missing the quick b gap hitter. Counters take to long to develop for my taste, but they can be damaging.
And no, playbook differential does not have any impact on the same play.
Remember pm defensive formations that give u trouble and ill give ya some advice on how to attack it
