So after atlanta displayed that pitiful game against the gmen, the jaguars decided to hire their offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey(atlanta offensive coordinator). i mean (in my ed lover voice): C'MON SON!!!!

so, them going to an offensive coordinator who helped matt ryan become a stud in the NFL, to help their struggling QB in Gabbert is a "C'Mon Son" moment??

He didnt help matt out if anything he has hindered him imo

But the giant game isnt just an anomaly....It was his usually bad play calling self, just this time it was on a national stage where everybody could see

Matt Ryan's a stud now? All I see is a kid who succeeds at home in the regular season, struggles on the road, and performs underwhelmingly in playoffs. (and Gabbert can not be helped...Jags are going to be looking at RG3, bank on it)

And you're right. One game doesn't make a coach/coordinator bad. But several games do. Mularkey has his head in his rear a large percentage of the time. He has a LOT of Mike Martz in him as far as egos go. Check out Mularkey's run/pass ratio inside the 3 yard line with one of the best goaline (and overall) runningbacks in the league in Michael Turner. Pretty abysmal. He makes MORE than his fair share of boneheaded calls.

not to mention ole matty ice been in the league 3 years without a playoff win. c'mon son!

I highly doubt the jags look at RG3.. They need wrs. They used a first-pick on gabbert last draft. He will benefit from training camp and off-season programs. I'd like to see 'em take ok states wr.

I def think he is a top 10 QB in the NFL, Eli went 0-2 or 0-3 in the playoffs (cant remember) before he went nuts and win a sb..

Ehhh....hard to really justify his performance given his frequent laying down in big games

i know noone asked but here it is the top 9 IMO with 4 out side looking in. I left both rookies out of consideration as its too early to tell
No matter whos list you are looking at as you go down from the top you lose playoff experience and success. My top 6 have won superbowls, most everyone elses has too... look at River and Roethlisberger. Rivers year in and year out has more yards and touchdowns than Ben but Roethlisberger has been to 3 superbowls and Rivers 0 .. When/IF Matty ice goes deep into the playoffs or makes it to a superbowl people can argue about him being a top 9 quarterback but not until then IMO

Ben is given too much credit, he is only as good as his defense.

Vick is a one year wonder

Eli is inconsistent year in year out.

Im not ready to say stafford is better after one year.

Payton manning took 10 years before he got a superbowl.

Winning a superbowl is a team effort. Ben doesnt win that his last superbowl against cardinals if not for a 99 yard int by harrison. Yes ben is clutch, but his defense should be given more credit then him holdimg teams mostly below 20 points unleds its against rodgers or tebow. Haha

Greatly debatable. Get him just ONE of the Cowboys WRs and, hell, even the Cowboys offensive line (as bad as THAT is).

People forget that Cutler has matured since his Denver days, and has spent his first three seasons with the Bears with:

1. An offensive line that has a 7th round LEFT TACKLE (smh), and 2 undrafted FA starters (considering Chris Williams can't keep his back healthy, and Carimi's dislocated patella will be an issue his whole career)

2. A WR corps consisting of our #1 Johnny Knox (who is a 5th round pick), #2 Devin Hester (who played DEFENSE in college), our #3 Earl Bennett (who'd be a 5, maybe a 4 on most other NFL teams), and #4 Dane Sanzenbacher (who's an undrafted FA).

3. No All-Pro TE, Martz had him traded away only to leave the next season.

4. 3 different O-Coordinators in 4 years.

Yet the guy is still on the cusp of being a top 10 QB in the league despite ALL THAT working against him....whilst a guy like Romo has a pro-bowl WR, pro-bowl TE, Dez Bryant (soon to be All-Pro) to throw to, and an at least AVERAGE OL blocking for him...and he's on the cusp as well...I'll give the benefit of the doubt to Cutler. Romo's had his chances...

And romo has put up numbers that rival with brady, brees, peyton, Arod on a career basis. His career passer rating is BETTER than brady, peyton. 3rd best all time behind steve young and Arod.

Theres no comparison between romo and cutler period.

Everything about romo gets blown out of proportion. Stats may not tell the WHOLR story, but numbers dont lie. He is one of the best qb's in the league.

Passer rating is a terrible barometer of quarterbacking quality. It's equivalent to some of the really BS Sabermetric statistics you see in baseball.

For instance, COMPLETION % is only weighted as 5% of the total QB rating, while yards per attempt (a stat greatly fluctuated by YAC yards) is weighted 25% of the value.

Shaun Hill and David Garrard are also top 25 all-time QBs by passer rating reflection.

In what world is Joe Theismann a worse QB than Tarvaris Jackson?....the answer....the "QB Rating" world.

Here's a baffling one....in what world is JOHNNY UNITAS worse than Matt Cassel?....the answer...the "QB Rating" world.

And I realize that the season isn't on Romo's shoulders...he's got all the weapons in the world to throw to while Cutler has about 65% of his offense as 5th round -undrafted FA players, and he's still right there with Romo in the conversation for current top 10 QBs. To be honest, no reason Romo shouldn't be a top 5 QB. He's been a huge dissapointment.

And I'm talking about giving Cutler 1 other player to either throw to OR block for him WHILE he throws...not 11 defensive players and Devin Hester. Hahah

I hate the Cowboys but I try to b realistic and Romo is if not an elite QB, just a notch under. Numbers dont lie and not the crappy QB rating kind, the guy gets blamed for a defense that let him down. Granted vs the Jets he gave it away and some bad INTs vs Lions, and vs the Pats Garrett took the ball out of his hand.

Anyway I'm glad he is home watching :-) and Giants are not.
