Charlie Weis has agreed to be the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, according to Chris Mortensen. An announcement could come within the next 24-48 hours.
Head coach Todd Haley has a strong offensive philosophy, but he said Wednesday that it fits with what Weis does.
“He’s a coach that system-wise, I would say we’re as close as you can be,” Haley said before Mortensen’s report came out. “Charlie’s a guy I consider a friend and I’ve talked to throughout the year, no different from some of the other guys I lean on for things and advice.”
Phew. There was no chance that he was coming to the Jets, but at least we won’t have to deal with him helping to return the New England offense to glory.
