| I'd rather play longer quarter games because most players don't really have a scheme (usually 3-5 plays out of 1, maybe 2 formations). Games with short quarters aren't realistic. Players who like short quarter games probably don't have enough plays to last them a whole game, so they want to get it over with quickly before they get shut down, and have to rely on plays they don't know. Some players just can't sit in front of the TV for that long because they get bored easily. I like to shut my opponent down on D, get the ball, and make a drive down field for the TD, not come out on first down and pray for the big play.
But, to each his own.
What about you? | |

| Longer games. I like the strategy that it takes and to me it is more realistic. | |

| I like the longer game too. Short quarters one cheap little mistake and you're done. Better player doesn't always win. | |

| longer games give you time to get your act together...lol! say, if you had a horrible 1st qrtr or half, you can shake it off and come out strong in the 2nd.

| With short quarters, a good amount of the time the better player doesn't win because if they make 1 mistake it could be over.. With that said, longer quarters are the way to go | |

| Seems like we should have defined ''short'' and ''long'' to start with. I prefer 5 minute games and you can take from that whatever you want but nothing pleases me more than to kickoff to a dude and if they score (usually not easily I give 'em hell and a td is often due to me being overly aggresive)... and then keeping the ball the entire half and then scoring to open the third. Even great players are usually so frustrated at that point they come out trying to dot all over and they end up making a mistake game over. Depends on what team I'm using though if I'm using a team like the Fins what I described above is the only way to go because they are not a great RC team so if you get in trouble on down and distance because of a penalty or sack etc. somtimes digging your way out on a 2nd and 20 is tough vs really good players. On the other hand If i'm using the Saints or Chargers I'm coming out in gun split slot sitting back in my 7 man blocking wall and RCing up and down the field with no regard to clock time. I enjoy playing offense both ways but i'll leave you with this... If you rely on RCing all the time start using a team that isn't such a good RC team for awhile and you'll learn new ways to ''hunker down'' and grind out tough yards (dink and dunk) then you go back to your good RCing team and you can then play either way and that is TUFF!! to stop. | |

| thanks Saints. some good words of wisdom in that post.
Chargers and Saints are so versatile that you can play both styles of game! Dink and dunk, power run, and RC'ing. Man I love there offenses

| prefer longer games
1. if you fumble or something it wont hurt as much
2.and over the course of a game u make adjustments if its 2 or 3 minutes some guy can run a play on you 3-4 times you'll never be able to counter because the games over by then....
