| Next year if you are a level 30 and you beat a level 1 you should get no skill points. The way its set up this year if you beat a level 30 you get like 50 skill points but if you beat a level 1 you still get 30-some. I'm only a level 22 because my record is like 204-130, and the losses make it hard to advance, but I only play level 20+ opponents. The #1 guy on PS3 is such a loser if you look at his history he has 10 straight 21-0 wins against the same screen names. Obviously, what he does is select the Rams and then plays himself until halftime and then offers himself mercy. How can someone have such a pathetic life?! It seems like such an easy fix for EA and I hope they address it next year. IMO anyone who is a good player and beats up on level 1s by 50 and 60 points is a pathetic loser. I play online for good competition and I get much more fulfillment out of a close loss against a quality opponent than a 70 point win against some bum. | |

| I would say that if you are a lvl 15 your points for beating a lvl 1 should start to go down.
This is how i think the skill points should be given out vs a lvl 1-10
Your skill level vs a lvl1: skill points won -14: up to 50 points 15: up to 45 points 20: up to 40 points 25: up to 35 points 30: up to 30 points 35: up to 25 points 40: up to 20 points 45: up to 15 points The "up to" is also dependant on their record/skill points stored up....You cant get more than they have.
If EA sets a chart like this up for every level than the system would be fixed. And there would be a way less number of people who get free wins cause it isnt worth it.
I will admit that early on in the game I would challenge lesser comp....WHen I was under a lvl 13 I would play low levels really just to boost my record/lvl. I went on to have a record of like 50-4 and I had a 20 gm win streak and another really long one......After I got above a lvl 15 I started thinking that it wasnt worth doing. Whats the point of having a good record (thinking your good) and you havent played anyone....Thts when I started playing mainly ppl above lvl 18.
ANd I must say it is way more rewarding to have a 8 gm win streak vs lvls 18+ than it is having a 20 gm win streak playing people lower than lvl 10

| they could make it to where they bunch the rankings into groups
levels 1-5 can only play that group or higher levels 5-10 can only play level 5 or higher levels 10-15 can only play level 10 or higher
something like that etc.
but it is fun to be a bum hunter hunter. let me explain my online record is like 15-15 and lvl 2. but i consider myself a very solid madden player. i just study the game and lab and play friends and non ranked games instead of playing ranked bull crap. so it is fun to go play a level 20+ and see his reaction when he gets donked on by a level 2!

| oh yeah
who even cares about rankings? the best players go to MLG events and tournaments. do you think dynasty, problem, prodigy, los, etc. care about their online record? NO
zfarls and sgibs records probably don't care either

| well the only reason i care about my online record is i know most good players dont play players that have bad records, i know i dont play anyone with a #### record. But its all in fun and im just to competitive to not care about my record. | |

| Yeah, true about online. Its a different style game, BUT if you arent a tourney player yet, and like to play lots of madden online then you gotta try and become the best.
I dont ever understand why people will qb walk to get like a 300-25 record, thats wierd. But if you play pretty straight up and play 5-10 games a week its cool to go for a good record.

| Yeah Farls, I think you can see where I'm coming from. I always get responses like Blanco's that say "who cares about online rankings?" Well the reason nobody cares about online rankings is BECAUSE EA continues to reward bumhunters. If the system wasn't so broken, your online ranking would actually mean something and that's all I'm asking. I care about my online record for the same reason you care about your EAFL record. There's not huge $$$ on line and its just a video game, but its about feeling recognized and having a tangible way to assess your accomplishments. It just drives me crazy because it would be sooo easy to fix. Let's face it, unless you're an elite tournament player like Problem, Jet Steele, or you and gibs, none of this really matters and I get that but that doesn't mean the online ranking system should be broken. | |

| Gotta play to win! If your gonna play this game alot (I played alot of online in 08) Then it would be nice if the online system wasn't completely retarded!
The biggest reason it should be fixed is simply, SO you know if your about to play a good person and have a legit matchup on your hands!
nothing is worse than playing a level 25+ who sucks and quits out after its 21-0 and you gotta waste the hour playing the cpu! AMEN bro.

| Even if the system wasn't broken sometimes the internet lags out and you get disconnects. I used to play online a lot in 2005 and I was like 50-4 legit. Once I played the #7 overall person on there and I was up 14-0 in the 1st and my internet lagged out. Controller throwing moment. It's just not worth it. I just play people i know from the forums and stuff. There's always gonna be ppl who figure out how to do the disconnect glitch or whatever. People respect you if you say you got top 16 at MLG, but if you say you are 100-5 online record they're like who cares.... just my opinion... | |

Blanco, I completely agree with you. But the reason nobody cares because they assume you bumhunt and cheat. But if EA could fix the system being 100-5 would actually have some credibility.

| bottom line u should get zero rankings absolutely none if u beat someone more than 10 lvl below u example a lvl 15 would get 0 points for for beating any1 less than lvl5 20 cant ply lower than lvl 10 and so on and so forth and that would in turn make bumhunting worthless which it alredy is but they still get the excitement of lvling up and now they would lose that ability | |

| i absolutely hate it when you see who you think is a good player in the lobby and then look at their history and see that they play nothing but level 1s and you know they wont play you. whats the fun in killing terrible kids every game? | |

I knw where your coming from but honestly that is unfair. Im now a lvl 26 and I have it set up where when i do a quick ranked game that I am matched up with players 5 lvls within mine.....and who pops up time after time?? low lvl 1-6 players Its not my fault that they are the only player EA matches me up with EVEN THOUGH I HAVE IT SET UP SO I WILL BE PLAYING lvl 21+...... I have to go through about 10 mins of quick game matchups to get a player who has a good number of wins over 50%.....Sometimes i dnt have the time to do that and I will play the 1st person that matches up with me Sometimes its not the players fault that they bum hunt, a good part of the blame has to do with the madden match making...

| i think they need to redo the way they do levels. first off i think it is real unnecessary to have the numbers be as high as they are 40-50 just seems kinda dumb it should be like 1-20 or 1-15. they should make it so if a high level plays a level 1 they get 1 or 0 points, i know it is impossible for them to take stuff away from people playing themselves as it isnt cheating its just being really lame. but they can make it extremely difficult for them to do by making it so beating a level 1 would mean no gain and losing to a level 1 means huge loses. also they should make more lobbies for each specific category. of course i know people will still cheat to be number one it may take them 50 accounts but it will probably happen, win trade with one to get it to level 5 the other too level 5 and then build the other up to level 10 and slowly slowly slowly move up its inevitable, but still why not make it take up all their time just to do it. | |
