| this is sad..... why is it when someone makes a thread about actually playing madden, it only gets a couple of responses? (3 at the time of this thread). c'mom guys, u cant spend the whole year labbing. just go out there and ball win or lose. its crazy that the madden community is now full of people who wanna win but don't wanna get better. for example: if u add someone to ur friend's list on ur ps3/xbox and u cant beat them, that dosent mean u should take them off ur friends list. that means u gotta keep trying, and learn ur opponents weaknesses. fellas, if u lose to someone, dont use the tired excuse of "i was just labbing". i also feel that is another reason why people try and hide behind unranked games, that way they can quit whenever they want, they use the excuse i wasnt trying/just labbing, they can hide their real record cause nobody can see the results of games. i understand ranked games has accelerated clock and its on all pro. but its not like its unplayable. so what its accelerated clock. just make quicker reads. EA intended to stop the lames that audible from snugs to goaline, goaline to snugs, zzzzzzz ......also between all-pro and all-madden i dont see a huge glaring difference. same fumbles and dropped picks in both so whats the big deal? gFF ps- this is just a harmless rant, not flaming anyone specificly, i enjoy this website and TWIM especially. i just want the communinty to do more ballin and less labbin/chattin | |

| Vabeach. You right. I like getting killed sometimes. If you don't play better people you are fooling yourself into thinking you are better then you really are. If you keep beating bums and only play bums you never get better! | |

| I always go into games like "Im gonna lab my snugs" Then I go down 7-0 and just drop the post corner hammer on people because I hate losing.
Unless I got a big tourney coming up, I dont spend TOO much time in practice mode. I usually will run my base offense for most of the game, but if im killing some kid there is no reason to keep calling what he cant stop. So then I try and look for new plays/reads/spins to put on my plays and offense. Same with D, if im up 35-0 im pretty darn sure my D works. So I will start calling my other audibles to get the setups ready!
I ALWAYS play to win. | |

| Part of it is just the nature of the beast. Everyone has egos, and it doesn't feel good for anyone to feel bested by anyone. So there will always be people hiding behind illegitimate excuses.
If you are looking to get more satisfaction out of your wins, join tournaments or leagues (if you aren't already in one). It's hard to explain, but winning a match that counts somewhere other than an online leaderboard is very satisfying.

| i don't have this problem! but i like what VaBeach said here. i for one always play ranked games and have many friends on my list that crush me on the regular...lol! i don't lab nearly as much as i should cause i am the type of cat that loves to jump right in a game. maybe that is why i am getting dusted in the EAFL right now with a 0-4 record so far. lol! i'll turn it around the season is still young.

ps- this is just a harmless rant, not flaming anyone specificly, i enjoy this website and TWIM especially. i just want the communinty to do more ballin and less labbin/chattin I agree with you.I hate when people msg you back and say "I was just labbin" that is 99 douchy. As far as ranked games go I stopped playing them in 09 when the game became fluky. If 09 had gap nanos I would've played ranked games alot. But since there was no gap heat in 09 people had all day to curl and rc you, bottom line game was trash to me and I hated it.This year acc clock and even more fluky sh!t that determines the outcomes of games keeps me from not playing ranked at all. When EA decides to put the game back in the users hands I will come back to ranked games. But EA's motto since 09 is "Anybody can win".And that sh!t is getting old.But hey to each his own.

| good post vabeach...i feel pretty much the same way. i really dont see the huge difference between all pro and all madden either...you get douched either way. It kind of bugs me sometimes when ppl talk about only playing all madden...like they have their noses turned up at all pro ranked games or something. Darn Yuppies.
And as for davidlight is it SOOO hard to explain??? lol. Come on now, im sure EVERYONE here can grasp that concept.......jk dude. just givin u a hard time.

| I've been getting in the lab lately just because I want to make some original stuff that no one has seen.. I've spent a lot of time labbing, and it took me 15 minutes to find a defense vs. Trips and Snugs/Flip formations.. I found a flat defense that works very well.. with still good coverage.. We've gotta stop posting and just start playing lol. | |

exactly! im all for posting but some people confuse posting with how good you are. lol the madden community should be how like brake dancing was in the 80's. people didnt fight/shoot each other up...if they had a problem with each other they just threw down a cardboard mat and started battling with brake dancin'. LOL. instead of us brake dancin everyone should just ball! gFF= glitch FREE FOOTBALL

One of the main reasons why the EAFL was founded almost 5 years ago was to provide a place to play that didn't have all of the nonsense you'd expereince in online ranked games. -You sound like someone that would appreciate what the EAFL Leagues have to offer. -LESS BAWLIN', MORE BALLIN'!

Come on.. It's still great.. If you get stuck with a bad one, and have a bad year; You get to pick high in the draft.. There are players in the EAFL that have won with the Buccs.. won as in won the Super Bowl.. in the Majors..

i have no interest in playing free winners (aka people who make a 2nd profile and use it to give their original profile free wins smh). to me thats the scum of the madden community, lol. -anyways- i thought about playin in the eafl, heard ALOT of good things about it, im even on the waiting list, but i dont like being told what teams i can use. some people switch teams all the time, im not one of those people. im a DIE HARD steelers fan (sorry mili, lol) and that is the only team i use. there's a reason why playersbowl/mlg dont tell u what teams u can use

VaBeach, If you come in mid-season, you'll have to take over a vacant team and finish out thier schedule for playoff seeding and/or draft positioning; maybe you might luck out, and Pittsburgh will be available; but once that season ends, you can put the Steelers at the top of your preferred teams draft list, and you will have a chance (how good, depends on how high you draft) to get that team, or one that's closest to the one you want. One of the benefits of playing with a variety of teams, is that it makes you expand your game by helping you develop the ability to work with different types of personnel offerings and other situations. Being in a league setting, you'll also further develop adjusting your gameplans for division opponents that you could possibly see up to 3 times in one season. After further develping those skillsets for your Madden game, going back to your favorite team for play-now/scrimmage/ranked/tourney games will be that much better because you'll be armed with even more concepts to use with that squad's personnel. -Thanks for the good words everyone. --Much appreciated! For everyone else interested in playing in the EAFL Leagues:To play in the EAFL Leauges, (if you haven't already done so) register for your LeagueDaddy.com profile at http://www.leaguedaddy.com/login/newuser.asp , completely read and fill out the EAFL Leauges application at http://www.EAFLMadden.com/join.htm , and pay the membership fee at http://www.eaflmadden.com/madden10.htm . Once you pay the $11 membership fee, you'll be able to play in EAFL 360 and PS3 leauges for the year. When openings become available, and it's your turn on the waiting list; you'll be sent an EAFL invite from LeagueDaddy.com . Post your e-mail address that you applied with, e-mail address of the PayPal account you used to pay the membership fee with, LeagueDaddy.com name, along with any other important information that applies to your situation, and keep an eye on, the " EAFL Paid members-waiting list, post here." sticky thread in the EAFL Community section of the EAFL Forums here (click on, or copy & paste text into your browser's address bar) : http://forums.eaflmadden.com/ for updates from EAFLCommish, and also keep an eye on your e-mail (junk, bulk, spam, and inbox folders) for an EAFL invite from LeagueDaddy.com once he's announced they've been sent out.
