Madden Is Going Back (Unless Ya'll Talk Me Out Of It)

It's a game for the small brains. I'm sorry. All you gotta do is Ask Madden, hot route a slant out and play.

Set it and forget it.

Well, I'm done with this. It's honestly sad. I used to enjoy creating schemes....but this whole simpler schtick that Ian Cummings came out with has made Madden so any freaking kid can pick it up and throw slant outs....

the universal scheme takes another...ive been on the verge of taking the disk out and breaking it in half...im waiting for the patch...if it doesnt fix it i think im done

Stay Zan, try and play friends and what not that are actually going to challenge themselves to run a successful scheme. Unless you are running into this with friends, then you might as well quit or wait and see if the patch fixes anything.

if u do sell it, hopefully see u in 12..

just play on saloon or money sites makes the game fun again.

I've played one of saloon's best within the past 2 days and it was LITERALLY random undercenter plays with a slant out.

What is all this slant out talk? I have not noticed people doing it to me. What should I be watching out for? Is there a counter?

I think playin zone defense is better against slant outs...then it comes down to gettin the player in the right position when the ball is in the air..

I noticed man cov just gets burnt...but yea zan I know the feelin..lol..

guess i should start running slant outs..but madden is broken on so many levels..its been like that for a long time its the only game with nfl rosters and everybody knows madden so u get sucked into buying it..

ive made it through:
unbelievably dumb skyhigh spec catches (2008)
4 curls and fb dive (2009)
off tackle (2010)

you know why I made it through those years? the game had at least SOME level of defense. This year:

1. yellow zones don't react to the ball in the air
2. purple zones cover way too shallow
3. qb spies stand there dumbly
4. deep blues don't trade off effectively
5. a simple play like stick will literally make 4 defenders screw up their man assignments

about the ONLY thing that work this year is the flat zone. you know why? because there was ZERO flat coverage last year.

This year, I can't call man because 95% of the nation comes out in stick....so if I show blitz and back up man, then they call mesh, which is naked underneath for years...but i cant bring them down, because if i do, they'll just hot route a flanker to a slant out...where a bum like maurice stovall can burn darrelle revis/nnamdi asomugha/ike taylor...so im relegated to a zone coverage where the only guys who don't stand there with the IQ of a toothbrush are your DEFENSIVE LINEMEN...but WAIT...THEY CANT get a pass rush on their own (like the Giants, Colts, Bears, Vikings, etc...seem to do JUST FINE)...so your zone coverage (which already doesn't work with 7 or 8 in coverage, must get MORE holes in it! you must send 2 LBs plus your DL to get decent heat.....so then its back to streaks and slant outs....

Hi-Lowing a Cover 2 corner

instead, people are hi-lowing a cover 3 because it exploits the flats, even though thats clearly intended for a cover 2. people are running fork concepts versus cover 3...which make ZERO sense...why is a game touted as realistic working where a cover 2 beater best beats a cover 3 and vice versa?

....and worst of all, ive seen people calling slant outs a SCHEME!???? WHAT!?

from what i heard zan your D is pretty good...

he doesnt have to play see you in 2012. i agree that slant outs r hell this year but its the game i love and idc im still gunna play it. if your really hating it that much your wasting your time playing it everyday idk just seems dumb when people get mad. no one is making you play madden, i hope your playing it cause you enjoy the game

I've basically come down to the point where the last hope is this patch. WHEN it fails, Madden goes back.

ive had to pick 6's with yellows since patch, they still arent as good as should be but theyre improved

zan just wait till the update...they say zone defense is gettin an upgrade...

If it as good as it seems to be...all of ur problems should be solved...well maybe not all of them but a majority of them

2009 was the worst ever...i forever hate the curl routes

2008 was fun tho

2010 was too easy to play defense....offtackle was not that hard to stop

2011...Ill hold my tongue for now...I want to wait and see how the update will affect defenses

Right now the game is trash. That's all I'm saying. It has no replayability, other than the fact that I'm in C4.

Man are you right about that Zan I see madden making changes in the way that nba live did, not good. Sometimes i ask myself Y dont they improve on one of there better madden/nba live games for example maybe madden 10 and improve and add more features to it. Fix the defense for the flats improve and eliminate all glitches add that scouting feature, take away the accelerated clock and a long list of other things and come out with it the next year. But dont go and mess the whole thing up with the new locomotion i dont like it. No turbo?-where they do that @ games are built on turbo.My thing is these new concepts and changes are made so they can make it better for new/begining madden players but these changes are not neccessary when you have sites like this One and Youtube there are ways to get better U just have to put in the time & effort there is a host of knowledge on the internet these days, I just hope EA sports don't go the route nba live did just to appeal to maybe the younger generation.
