help with defense

Hi I'm 55 I love to play madden, and love the Madden bible and tips. I would call myself a beginner compared to people who play online. I love defense, but not that good at it. I'd like to learn defensive strategies like when to all out blitz, or when to send 1 or more blitzers, when to contain, when to play flat zones when to man align, how to play the different colored zones, when to shift the defensive line and linebackers and why. I'm not too fast on the strategy pad. If anyone is willing too lab with me it would be greatly appreciated.

To start off I would go into settings and turn the strategy pad off and go to the Madden 10 controls. I think it is easier than simply using the strat pad all the time.
