| Sgibs7 or ZFarls,
Do you have any suggestions for what type of offensive playbooks I should be looking at for my Ravens? I use 2 profiles on my PSN so that's why I said playbooks. Not many people run the Ravens so i don't see to many tips in other forums. I've tried NE,Det,NO,Hou,WC,Sea,Den,Bal,Ten,Was,SF, and Run Heavy. I've had success with Sea, and Hou the most. I like to run the ball but I would like a book where I can find good passing plays if I need them. Can I be successful running my Ravens with a passing book such as Den,NO, or NE? To be honest I like Detroits book, but to me it seems it's not very run friendly. But then I see people on forums saying they can run out of it, I want to give it a try again. I feel like I should be set with my playbooks already. Its a little frustrating. I'm looking for one playbook to be more passing than running but good run plays. And the other book with more run and less passing but with good passing plays. Even something balanced. I hope that makes sense. I'm not asking for any breakdowns of playbooks. But if you can at least steer me in the right direction. Maybe give me at least 5 books to choose from. I would appreciate it. Oh yeah if anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Preferably Ravens users. Militant where you at? I hope I posted this in the right area.

Thanks sup MaddenMan? i think that you and i have met in another forum before. did we? i am the MB resident Ravens user....lol! i am a HUGE Ravens fan in real life and i run them solely on madden10. now...Gibs and ZFarls have already given me a "breakdown" on how the Ravens should be utilized online. i also asked them for a scheme that i could run out of the Run Balanced playbook...and they took the time to show me one and it was great! MM..all of the answers that you are looking for are in the "This Week In Madden" [TWIM] Show Episode 15 (i am actually looking at it again right now myself). you can find this episode and more in the FREE Tips section. other playbooks that i have used with the Ravens are: Baltimore, West Coast, Run Heavy ( i love the I-Form Twin TE) and Run Balanced. also, ZFarls encouraged me as a Ravens user to not just limit them to the running game (which is what i was doing) but to also stretch the field with them by passing. Gibs mentions in that episode that we are to look for the "BIG" targets (height wise) such as Kelly Washington, Demetrius Williams and of course, Todd Heap. i also will add L.J. Smith to that as another big target in the passing game. he said that we should look to use them for RCing and Jet Packing (i have to work on those) i hope this helps you get started but again...peep that TWIM Episode 15 show...i think that you will like it bruh! peace! -Mili

| What up Militant! Thanks for the info. I just got off of work and I'm going to check out that TWIM 15. So have you been running the run balanced book or balanced? I need to take a look at those. Oh yeah this is the same maddenman that you talked to about the Ravens depth chart. Thanks for the reply. We should create a Ravens thread somewhere in this forum. We can talk defense and offense or whatever Ravens. | |

sup my dude? i figured that you might have been the same Madden Man...lol! just wanted to make sure cause i have been meeting a lot of cats with a similiar tag as yours. but to answer your question....i have been mostly running either the West Coast or Run Balanced pbs. i really like the Ravens Obook as well and run it from time to time cause NO ONE is running it. those Strong H formations are outstanding for the "POWER" running game that Gibs mentioned in the TWIM 15 show. plus....it has all of the "5 Formations of Success" that ZFarls and SGibs mention in their article on the subject. to me...the only thing that the Ravens Obook lacks are Gun formations with the RBs running "blue" routes out of the backfield. that is why i am running either the West Coast or the Run Balanced pbs at the moment. they have both RBs running those "blue" routes out of the backfield. now...i also LOVE and i mean LOVE the Run Heavy playbook. the reason? again... NO ONE is running it and although it only has 2 Gun formations in it....with all of the hot-routing and motioning of players that we already do irregardless of the playbook we choose....it can actually be quite effective....especially in ball and clock control...lol! you just have to move the ball consistently and then play tuff defense. but...the Gun: Wing Trips formation in the Run Heavy pb has a play called; "Slot Option" where the HB runs a crazzzzy "S" route out of the backfield and then heads towards the flats. and...the Fullhouse has a play called; "Angle Swing" that is great for goaline situations. i think that both the Run Balanced and Run Heavy pbs are diamonds in the rough that get overlooked by the more popular pbs being used by the tournie players. it's all good though..lol! -Mili
