| i wanted to get this started cause i know that ZFarls and SGibs have been busy and focused on Orlando.
here are a few questions that i have for this weeks (TWIM 17) show guys:
1. how do you actually come up with a scheme? 2. what are the "ingredients" (i.e. running plays, passing plays, packages etc.) to having a unique and solid scheme? 3. how many audibles do you set to "compliment" that scheme?
now Z and Gibs...i know i am asking tons of question about my Ravens solely...that is cause seems like no one runs or focuses on them but me...lol! so here are a few more questions:
1. since Flacco's short throw accuracy (SAC) is 87%....and his medium throw accuracy accuracy (MAC) is a 80% and his deep throw accuracy (DAC) is a 79%, shouldn't i focus more on a "West Coast" type of offensive style in utilizing the 3-5 step drop with the QB and then throwing the short, quick and intermediate routes (i.e. drags, slants, ins, outs and curls etc.) and a few PA's instead of looking for the deep ball per se? maybe throw deep a few times a game?
2. what is the best way to set up the Ravens rosters? who should i put where offensively and defensively?
3. could you show me a "running" scheme from the Strong H or Weak H sets out of the Ravens playbook?
4. although the Ravens have a hybrid defense which "base" defense would suit the Ravens better....the 3-4 or the 4-6?

| I am very curious about MLG Orlando. Was there a lot of RCing going on? What were the top players running for schemes on D? It was cool to follow you guys on mlgpro.com. How about showing me some outside heat from the 3-4 that you guys never got to last week Hell of a run out there! | |

Twim show 17 will be on thursday at 8:30 thanks Z! i am looking forward to it. i am learning alot from you and Gibs. i am really diggin the format of the TWIM shows. i am really enjoying ALL of the breakdowns, formations, playbooks and other tips that you guys go through on a weekly basis. awesome stuff! nothing like it! you guys are doing a great job! P.S. in reference to my defensive audibles....in TWIM 15...i believe that Gibs mentioned using all 5 of my audibles for the 3-4? i am not sure. i know he said to just put the 3-4 Over Sting Pinch Zone and 3-4 Normal 2 Deep MLB Spy (but he didn't show the set up...lol) in my audibles. so i guess i am wondering...since the 3-4 is my "base" defense.... what should my other "3" audibles be? thanks! -Mili

| Mailbag Question: Can you show us a money play out of Balanced PB, that doesn't necessarily have to be rocketed, but has the option for a RC? i.e- given a lot of time this route will open up downfield, and a nano beater out of the Balanced pb | |

| more questions:
1. How do we Rocket Catch?
2. How do we actually impliment the "5 Formations for Success" in our gameplan? what's the process? (i.e. base play, audibles, packages etc.)

| Hey gibs this is probably one for you, but i just got done playing duke D destroyer whose apparently the number one dude in terms of online record. I figured that meant nothing and i'd throw rockets all day. Shockingly, the dude could ball. He got me by 17 and i was in shock of his defense. He was throwin heat from every gap and doing everything except nanos. He had bump and run everywhere, and i started to run that cute little route you guys showed last week that you motion and the guy jumps off. But Mike Mackenzie of all people was picking it, really making me rely on one on one stick work. Clearly, i'm not very happy about the loss.
With that being said, what are your favorite ways to beat bump and run when you don't have time to let corners and such develop? Motions and drags don't work because he users too well. I was truely lost. Thanks man

| another question:
1. knowing that everyone plays differently, what is the "mentality" that you feel 3-4 users such as myself should have? should it be an agressive blitzing mentality (always sending a LB or 2 on every down), or a bend don't break coverage type mentality?

| First off,
Thanks for all your help Sgibs and Zfarls. Your TWIM shows really have brought my game to a higher level along with the forums and maddenbible in general.
I think there are many in the madden community who focus too much on blitzing without knowing the correct situations to blitz in and what blitzes to call in those situations. I like to use a lot of base and coverage defenses and mix in blitzes to keep them honest but do not use heavy blitzing purposely. It would be a good idea to inform the community about mixing in vanilla zones with their blitzes and that blitzing 30 + % of the time does not equal a win.
I have been labbing a ton with this years madden and just today figured out a few corner routes. I used to hit corner routes 99 % of the time in Madden 2007 but its much harder with 09 and 10. Can you go over some good corner routes to hit in the Indianapolis playbook? I use my Dallas Cowboys with the Indy offense and the Dallas defense.

| Gibs i messaged him and told him you'd request him. He's gonna bring that outside heat all day, then once you user pick his RC once or twice he'll run off tackle all day. Or atleast thats what i saw | |

| Long time lurker, first time poster. First off congrats to Gibs n Farlz in Orlando! I heard Gibs has a hell of a RC, and that leads me to my first question. I know you can't really teach stick work but what routes do you find to be easiest to RC with? The only success I've had this year was with the post corner route and even then its only 50/50. In conjunction with that, do you use the left stick or right stick? I haven't been able to watch the show live yet, but I'm going to do my damnest to watch it live tonight.
Alsooo, lol, I've been running the run heavy playbook with success the past couple of weeks, the only downside to it is the lack of Shotgun plays, it has some, but I don't know if I'm utilizing them to their fullest, can you offer up some help?
Thanks in advance guys, I know the community appreciates what you guys are doing!

| Can you guys go over different route combinations that would work in any set (like curl-flat)?
Also can you explain how many formations you like to use on defense. I usually only have 2 or 3. One for 2 Wr or less sets, one for 3 wr or more, and maybe a run stopper.
Thanks | |

| First off I want to say thank for for your help.. I know I have been feeding off of your great knowledge. With that said I just have a quick question,
I am on the verge of switching TO balance PB after seeing WR Post Corner out of shotgun:split back. Is it worth using? I know there is offtackle, but I want a legitimate scheme out of it. Basically what I am asking is can you show me some of your scheme today on the show?? I would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks | |

| My Questions for the Mail bag.
1. Does a mini version of run commit actual exist. I have noticed a lot of players can play quarters and there zones react to the ball when I run. While playing a lab partner he told me that if you use the right stick to the side of the run the cpu control players will flow heavy to the side of the run usually beating the RB to the outside on off tackles or tosses. Only in two directions right or left as up and down brings on the hit stick animation. He seemed to be doing the same thing out of the predator while running f@g D. I could not get it to work but then again I only tried 1 to 2 times. Have any of you heard of this or is it a Madden myth.
2. On the Rocket catch I hear some people say you have to move the man, others say no you don't. ( this is after clicking on ) On the slant and fade rocket I have to usually guide the receiver to the circle before hitting down on the right stick. Am I doing something wrong or is that how it is? Also Pass lead are we talking left stick or last years r1 pass lead from last year ( I thought it didn't exist though)

| I got one for you guys:
What is a good defensive play to bring pressure from the edge that keeps the QB contained in the pocket, but still has good coverage?
Hint: Vick just killed me in a league game. LOL
