Favre had a great run this year! he beat the Packers 2x in the regular season (got his revenge against them) and he took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game. (again...sticking it to the Packers). and although his gun-slinging ways caught up with him once again at the end by throwing the pic to seal the Vikings fate....it was still an awesome season Brett! now......

LET IT GO!! RIDE OFF INTO THE SUNSET!! ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!

Why wouldnt he come back he was a top 5 QB in the NFl this year, he had great numbers went the the NC champ game, come on he coming back, hes gona play until hes terriable which prob wont be for another 3 years, I really hope to see him back in Purple its the best story in football, and btw he would of won the Super Bowl if not for all the fumbles!!!!!

He will play 1 more year, although everything is telling me NO

He would have been in the Superbowl had he not thrown a pick in one of the biggest most clutch situations in his life.. Can't blame it all on the fumbles

sad thing is, he doesnt really have anything to leave for....i mean yeah hes got a wife and kids but he lives on a farm in mississippi, thats gotta be boring as hell!

in kurt warner's case, he's got about 10 kids (slight exaggeration) and im sure hell be doing some sort of broadcasting somewhere down the line cause hes got the personality for it....but could you imagine brett favre doing pre- and post-game analysis on ESPN? haha it would be like pulling teeth!

i hope he retires and retires for good without any dramatic games and ends what was truly a great career

We were in the NFC championship in '01, that's not 20 years most teams can't even say that (cough, cough) COWBOYS. Also they need to draft a QB (I would like to see Colt McCoy if his shoulder doesn't effect his throwing), but if Jackson starts he will be better after playing behind Favre. He led them to the playoffs before AP was there, and we'll be right back in there again. We need another QB because eventually he will have to retire for good, and we will be left empty handed. So like Chris Carter said, "the only way the Vikings will make the big game is if they find a YOUNG QB to lead the team." Favre might break a hip with his old a**. I still don't like him, remember, he used to be a Packer.

The packers are going to win the NFC North next year regardless if Favre comes back or not.

LOL i dont know why you are bringing up the Cowboys when they have 5 super bowl rings to your ZERO AND I not a boys fan anyways. Chris Carter dosent know sh!t about football, He picked the Dolphins VS Panthers to be in the super bowl lol what a bum so dont quote him it makes you sound........ First off I'm from Texas, I know how many rings the 'Boys have (I watch every game they play that's televised), and I was using them as an example of how long it's been since they've been in the NFC championship. Second I also know that the Vikes haven't won a ring, you don't have to tell me things I know. Also how can you say Chris Carter doesn't know about football. Did you play in the NFL? There was no analyst that predicted this year's Superbowl. As far as the Favre comment, it was a joke. I know that he doesn't miss games. There was no reason to insult me. Packers are gonna be a top contender in the NFC next year if they can pick up/trade for/draft one solid cb.. one or 2 lineman.. and 1 gamebreaking special teams player... Thats the only weaknesses i see on the team and really CB isn't a weakness its just chucky woodson and Al harris are getting older.

And yes i agree with you HT the vikes need a new QB it doesn't seem like jackson is ever going to be a super bowl QB and favre.... well we all know what he does in big games

Farve just can't seem to let it go like Kurt Warner did and ride off into the sunset! he has been a dynamic QB over the years and he has tremendous respect among his peers. maybe it is time to just walk away and let the young bucks have it now!

Well if you say that, then we can talk about the missed call that the NFL said should have been called, which would have negated an interception. The penalty cause Brett Farve to have a sprained ankle, which hampered him the rest of the game.

LOL, why wouldn't you want Farve back? You are the closest to the Super Bowl you have been in the past 10 years, and you don't want the QB back that got you there?

I would definitely want Farve back, but draft a rookie QB in the draft (move up to get one)..
You are taking the Super Bowl for granted. Just because you guys were there this year, doesn't mean that you'll be a contender in the following years with a lesser QB.
