| Just wondering. I think a patch was released not to long ago, but are they still considered broken?
+ How do you defend against the flats?

| yeah they still broken especially if they roll out with the qb towards where the receiver or rb is running their flat route, so annoying, u have to manually cover the flats in most situations | |

| 4-3 Normal/under/over
-Man up the safety on the outside WR that the flat route is run to...nudge him so he dnt move (the CB will slide in on 3WR formations)
- put flat side CB on a purple zone
-Put flat side OLB on a Blue zone
-Put flat side DE on a QB contain
the contain forces a quicker throw...the Blue zone has to run to the flats so he will be less drawn away...the purple zone is clean up...."BIG HITS"...If the Blue zone dnt make the tackle
if the opp tries a quick theow to the uncovered outside WR (fade/streak) it will be picked by the purple zone.....
Works best frm inside the 40yd line (less likely to be beat deep with the safety man covering the outside WR )

| the real key is to have a contain (to stop the QBs rollout)...while he still can roll out he has to play games with how far he can go....
ANd u have to find a way to get the flat zone to stay in front of the flat recever...
EX...a way to stuff the Split slot HB Screen(flat pass)
Nickle strong (flip)
Cover 2 - PM the DE to the flat to a QB contain -PM the NB to a flat zone - PB the flat side corner to a QB contain (trust me)
the DE will help force the pass....the CB Contain willalso stop the rollout.... The NB will stay in front of the flat route
If the pass is too early it will be picked off by the CB contain (gotta love it) If the pass is to late u risk a sack or a pick by the NB The pass has to be on point to thread the needle to the HB...ANd it is a hard throw
