| Carroll lies to these cats that want to leave USC early to enter the draft by encouraging them to finish all four years at USC and not to enter the draft so that he can keep a winning program there. case and point....Mark Sanchez! Sanchez literally told Carroll to kiss his a$$ when he tried to (publicly in the media) tell him that he wasn't draft material and ready for the next level of football in the NFL. or no? this cat was drafted #5 in the 1st Rd by the Jets, and went on to lead his team to the AFC Championship game. smh! Mays was lied to and that is why he is soooo vocal about it. but, he only has himself to blame. your future is just that...YOURS! don't let someone else take control of it!

~Mili yeah but Sanchez didn't really do much, they had the best run game in the league and they had a great Defense all he had to do was roll out with PA and make short conversions on third downs. and the percentage of QBs who succeed in the nfl that enter the draft as juniors is terribly low, there is only a select few

| Mays should have left last year...this year there d was totally different..I think this is going to help him get even hungrier! First game of the season they play seattle so we will get a chance to see if Seattle made a good decision or a bad one... | |

| this year last year still woulda came under the same scrutinies, "he cant cover", "he's an OLB", "he lacks true range", if im pete carrol theres no way im taking two safties with all the holes that seattle has there were other areas that needed attention i think thats why he didnt go with mays, im sure he would have loved to but i mean he filled alot of holes for one draft, he came out with two good RB's thier LT of the future, and a ball hawk in earl thomas. mays should just be the best mays he can be and who better for him to learn and be coached under than the man himself mike singletary, i think this is gonna work out for mays cuz he fits what mike wants to do on both sides of the ball, bloody your nose, and play smash mouth football for 4 quarters, i like both the 49ers pick ups and the seahawks pickups i think they addressed pressing needs. | |

naaaw BRB. this wasn't about Carrol NOT taking Mays in the draft to play for him in Seattle. it was about Carrol telling Mays NOT to enter the draft last year when his stock was up! this year he dropped considerably in the draft. ~Mili

| personally I believe all student athletes should careless about their "stock" and finish school then worry about the NFL because if it doesn't work out you've finished school so that's most important and Taylor Mays actually wound up in an awesome situation
I wanted him to come to the Ravens but the 49ers got him and are looking scary the 49ers are so athletic and powerful 49ers are a team to be feared if their passing attack takes flight and secondary really covers watch out the 49ers will win their division lol

| There's a big difference between a top ten pick contract and a 47th overall, 2nd round pick contract. I don't blame Mays for being pissed, last he was projected as one of the best players in the draft. | |

dude needs to get over it, he's in the NFL, big deal if he didn't get a top ten contract. if he's good enough he'll get a top ten contract in a couple years. rookies are way over priced, some rookies get paid more then established NFL players Jamarcus russel has already made 30 mill, an thats more then most of us will make in our lifetimes. and hes a punk and a bum

agreed! Mays should have done what Sanchez did.....don't listen to Carol and follow your heart and dream! but, like Nizz said....he's in the NFL now with the 49ers and he gets to take it out on the Seahawks 2xs a year. ~Mili

| IMO mays made the right choice....the knock on him this year is that he cant really cover and he is always going for the big hit. Why go back to school and get exposed more.....He came in as being the 2nd best S or so. SO what if he was drafted in the 2nd he still is getting hella paper and he is on a team that will fit him.
I forgot I knw that Earl thomas and went Eric Berry went b4 him but what other safety went b4 him.......He dropped down 1 spot in terms of safety picks i think so he didnt really drop that much Edit: I didnt read the link....so forgive me.... But is Mays coming off his SR or JR year this year?..... Becuz if this way his SR year then he made a good decision in staying in school. But if he is a JR this was the time to come out becuz he would have been exposed next year. And If last year was his Soph season he couldnt have come out anyway I think, Morice Clarett (however u spell his name) tried to fight that in court a few years back and he lost

| i think all players should stay in school, yeah might have been a top ten draft last year, but who nows who could have been a bust.
he still might be a bust but atleast he had an extra year to mature and get better.
