| Mac computers only have a 10% market share of ALL computers, yet you hear people love them more than anything.
PC's make up almost the entire rest of the market and all people do is bitch and complain about them.
Madden is like a PC, everyone plays it and often never thinks about it. It gets so many people who play and use it casually. We play Madden Hardcore. We would be the PC user who mods his computer and makes it run fast.
Mac users are like backbreaker, they want something different and will defend it no matter what. There is NO WAY that Backbreaker will get more than 10% of the "football video game" market share. I dont think we realize how globabl or much of a phenomenon madden is every year.
There is room for 2 football titles especially if the do something differnet, but for this year and backbreaker isnt a blip on maddens radar.
I like Tackle Alley, the Kicking game and thats about it from the demo. I do think the physics are cool, but is it really that realistic?

Backbreaker is almost out and that's the game they are supporting
many have said it's not possible but Backbreaker did it
so much for oh it's just a video game and it's not possible
real physical to a certain extent is possible and has been done WAY better than Madden

Mac vs Pc is like comparing Gucci to Old Navy. Macs are just waaayyyy better and so is madden. No football game will ever catch madden EVER! Although 2k on dreamcast early this decade and NFL Gameday in the late 90s was d@mn close

and that will never change There is actually going to be a game that has intelligent line play & actual physics. I haven't seen Madden do that.. I haven't seen Backbreaker do it [because I don't have it / won't have it] but it looks good so far..

| i don't care what they come up with, there is always going to be glitches. video games are video games for a reason, i just wish some people could realize this. and if you don't like madden for the way it is, why don't you join a sim league? thats what they are there for | |

lol.. A sim league doesn't make offensive line blocking work. That's a silly excuse to use.. There is not ALWAYS going to be a huge significant problem like Offensive Line blocking in football games. EA has provided a few videos of Madden 11's run blocking and it looks a lot greater than Madden 10. I'm sure people used to say physics will never be in a football game.. Just because it hasn't happened YET doesn't mean it will never happen. The biggest problem with Madden 10 is blocking and flats.. then there is WRs not getting their feet in, man coverage, CBs can pick a ball that they can't physically see, and catching.. The overhead catch animation seems to be used on every play. Just because the "leading football game franchise" aka Madden doesn't have the "technology" to make a "football smart" football game doesn't mean another football game franchise can't have great success..

| Well yeah, but I wouldn't say offensive line blocking is a glitch.. it's more like an epic failure of coding. | |

| lol Well usually a glitch is when you use something in a way it's not intended that will cause you to gain something or you will cause another person to lose something.. Offensive Line blocking is just there.. lol.. It's just terrible.. no doubts about it. OL isn't even programmed to block the right person correctly lol. | |

| Backbreaker does not come anywhere near putting "EA to shame" as you say my friend. I want some of whatever you are smokin man, because either you are trolling, or you are high as sh!t For what it's worth, IGN gave backbreaker a 5/10 "meh" rating. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/109/1094435p1.html | |

yes madden 2010 isn't the best game but its still fun/addicting That's an excuse that everyone makes.. I like my football to have smart offensive lineman.. not offensive lineman that spin in circles. I could care less what company makes it. The biggest problem I've heard with Backbreaker is the camera angle. Yes, there are no hot routes and such, but this is the first game they've created. They'll get up to par on the next game they release.

| says who??? we really have no idea what we are talking about, we say what we want and we think what we want is possible for EA to achieve, but we really do not know how hard or complicated it is to make a game. if making a perfect video game was so easy it would have been done already.
madden has so many ratings this year, and i bet it is hard as hell to make each rating have an impact on the player and game.
no one is really going to make a game based around lineman. EA makes the game for a selected group of casual gamers. just like backbreaker is making their game around casual gamers. Casual gamers dont give a rats *** about lineman. all they care about are big hits and touchdowns.
i want the game to be fixed just as much as any of you, but im not going to sit here and complain about a game that i've been playing for almost a year long.

| Ok BB is out, I havent played it (red rings) but from what I have seen on the internet ans from what I have read, people and also pro reviews Backbreaker isnt even close to what people expected it to be...... Again I never plaed it but from what I read I will list some things that were wrong (by those people) No fatigue No injury No salery cap, trades, age, retirement, in their franchise mode Bad man coverage Bad camera view (shows like 120 degrees when the hum,an eye shows over 180) No hot routes No motion Stupid offensive AI (pass wise) The CPUs run game is a non threat Bad CPU playcalling Penalties are over done for some things and under done for others..just caos (IMO) some of the tackles are over exagerated and wouldnt happen irl (Back to what I heard) SOmepeople say online lags bad for the guest team, some say there is no prob with it ------------------------------------------------ Ok thats about it...IMO from what I have seen gameplay wise I give the game a 7 out of 10....but some people go as low as 2 out of 10 People say that the physics are the only thing that the game brings to the table... Me myself I dont know cuz I havent played the game yet....But I do agree that IF physics are the only thing that they bring and all the above problems are in the game that the game is un playable OFFLINE....... The game is what it is, dont make it out to be better than what it is....This goes for madden backbreaker, 2k, Call of Duty , GTA, or whatever game Ok I lost my train of thought I will get back to this after I remember | |

i want the game to be fixed just as much as any of you, but im not going to sit here and complain about a game that i've been playing for almost a year long. Why do they add ratings if they don't work anyway? They shouldn't add things that don't work, ex: Awareness EA says that if it's in the game, it's in the game... In Madden 11, they apparently fixed the offensive line. Go look at the run blocking videos.. They block correctly.. Stretch plays seem to work.. The Inside Zone's blocking rules worked.. so there were a lot of double teams then a OLman will peel off his man to the next lvl which would be a linebacker. Offensive lineman is what football is about. Several thousands of people have quit because stuff that happens in Madden doesn't happen in real life. The animations are stupid.. impossible at times.. The game would be much better if they built the offensive line correctly. Not all casual gamers like the passing game. There are a lot of NFL fans that love running the ball.. Steelers fans were so used to pounding the ball that they may enjoy the ground attack.. I have a feeling BB is making a game to be the only physics based football game ever. You can't do it with Madden's current system. I don't like the way BB looks [player graphics]. They make it look too much like Blitz which is a turn off for football lovers. They don't want an arcade game.. they want a real football game. If the OL was fixed, there wouldn't be nanos, aka you would be able to get deep passes for TDs like the "casual gamer" would.

| I have Backbreaker and there are definitely issues but the positives are
1.The game is playable and enjoyable
2.The game understands the basic concepts of football
3.The physics for the most part are astounding and accurate
4.Backbreaker requires stick skills and an understanding of timing, angles, and positioning like real football
5.Backbreaker is not flawed with suction animations or morphing, or lack of consecutive hit tackles or treadmill jogging or stick figure running
6.Backbreaker to its core is serious and the camera angles are simply awesome (you'd have to understand the focus button and the intent of the game)
7.From playing Backbreaker you realize the game was NOT made to suit the casual gamer necessarily but those who understand football, physics, and have stick skills to make both mesh
