Direction pad vs toggle stick

Is there a way to use the direction pad when running in Madden 11. Like I have always done on the older Maddens?

Have never the analog referred to as a "toggle stick" before. Sounds....dirty? LOL.

FWIW, I recommend using the analog...as it's a 360 degree/multidirectional option, rather than the typical 4-direction d-pad....

To answer your question, though....I don't think you can switch it.

I remember when the first analog stick controllers came out and I hated using the analog even when playing sports games. It really wasn't until training for one of the madden challenges with sgibs, maybe sophomore year of college so around 2005, when the challenge was on xbox and the xbox controller had the analog and d-pad switched from the ps2 controllers.



I couldnt get my thumb used to being in the different position, and the d-pad on the xbox was awful, so I had to switch. I still think I like the d-pad better but at this point i'm already adjusted.

Whats funny now is when I play PS3 I use analog despite the fact that the stick is in that other spot.

If you are asking if you can use the D-pad to move, no you can't.


My uncle wanted to use the D-pad to move also.. You could do it last year, but because they added the strategy pad, you can no longer use the D-pad to move.

He wanted to use it because he is used to Madden 06/07..
