| WFColonel56's 4-3 WALL First and foremost for the ppl who were not here last year I relesed this defense. I still to this day prefer to run this defense on 3rd and 6+ over any defense in the game. The ease of the setups and the ease of user responsibilities have not been beat (at least imo) ok let me describe the wall. First of all it is the 4-3 normal formation. I then will spread my LBs to achieve this look -------------------FS--------------------------SS------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------MLB----------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- CB---------ROLB-RDE--RDT---LDT--LDE-LOLB----------CB I call it the Wall because the alignment kind of resembles a wall. But the reason why I love to go into this formation on 3rd and 6+ is the fact that most likely it is a pass and the fact that I am presenting a balanced formation is a wonderful thing. They do not have a tell to where the pressure is coming from (well there is but im not sharing) But you will user the Safety on the side that the heat is coming from I like to classify the blitzes into levels. But you can get the same heat if you flip the play and set it up the same. All players will be called by actual position (LDE=DT on right of the screen) Cover 3- Spoiler:
****note**** if the blitzs are not getting in, blitz the OLB b4 spreading the OLBs. The way I have it set up I spread the OLBs first then blitz. There are different blitz angles with both
Level 1
-blitz ROLB -put LDT in QB spy/yellow zone -put LDE in purple/yellow zone
This blitz will get to the QB about 35% of the time. The main goal is for the QB to feel pressured, if he doesnt move he will be sacked. What you are looking for is for the QB to roll away from the heat so you are taking the field away from.If you are on the left hash and u bring the heat from the right the best case scenario is that the QB rolls left and then he is pretty much given 1/3 of the field to work with. But dont think that if the players get blocked it is over. Ohhh noooo the players shead there blocks and look to close in. But be careful the QB will have room to take off
Level 2
-Blitz ROLB -Put LDT in QB contain -Put LDE on QB spy/purple/yellow zone
Pretty much this is a blitz where you look to box the QB in. The heat will get in about 80% of the time. And when it does get in there is no place to run. His only hope is to make a pass where u have lots of defenders in coverage. This is my favorite Wall blitz to use because of its consistences.
Level 3
NON SLIDE PROTECT ABLE
-blitz ROLB -put LDT in a QB contain -re blitz LDE -opt- put LOLB in a purple zone
This blitz is not messing around. the heat should get in EVERY TIME. If they slide protect to the heat the opposite DE should come in free. Plus there is a good amount of coverage to defend the pass. But this blitz requires them to quick pass or leave a player back to block. And even that isnt fool proof because your OLB should be able to beat the RB. Yes he will stall him but that should only buy him 1 more sec to pass. --------------------------------------------
For coverage D just get creative with it. Just line up in the wall and hot route your DL to whatever. You can man them up on close receivers and they wnt move (TEs,RBs)
HOG BUCK 3- Spoiler:
level 3 -spread LBs
level 2 - spread lbs -put RDT on a qb contain -put RDE on a hook zone
level 1 -spread lbs -put RDT on a QB spy -RDE on a hook zone
So that is the 4-3 WALL[u]

| you can do them in any order It really depends on your OLBs speed. If he can get there with Spreading then blitzing than do that, if not blitz than spread | |

| Colonel I labbed this tonight and wanted to get your opinion.
4-3 normal FS Zone Blitz 1. Spread LB First 2. Reblitz ROLB 3. Click on ROLB bring him offsides then click off (if you dont put him down far on the line blitz will not get through) 4. Contain both DT's 5. put blitzing FS in zone of your choice (man on RB)
4-3 normal Spy 3 Blitz 1. Spread LB first 2. Reblitz LOLB (Click on ROLB bring him offsides then click off (if you dont put him down far on the line blitz will not get through) 3. Contain both DT 4. RDE in Spy

| 4-3 Normal under Ram Buck (man version)
1. Spread LB first 2. 2. Reblitz LOLB (Click on LOLB bring him offsides then click off (if you dont put him down far on the line blitz will not get through) 3. Contain both DT 4. Put RDE in zone of choice (purple, flat)
4-3 Normal slant 1 OLB Fire (man but heat comes from the other side) 1. Spread LB first 2. 2. Reblitz ROLB (Click on ROLB bring him offsides then click off (if you dont put him down far on the line blitz will not get through) 3. Contain both DT 4. Put LDE in zone of choice (purple, flat)

| i love this defense it is just like the 4-4 last year, heat can come from either side with it all looking the same and you can adjust coverage very easily, good stuff! | |

it works for most of the plays in the 4-3 normal. But I tend to stick with the cover 3, I will dabble in the cover 2, I dont really like to do it from man but if u want to do it from man ram buck is the best play (the safety in man coverage tends to stay back more, plus it is the easiest to set up).......But yes the blitz can be achieved from most of the plays, but the set ups may vary a little

| Key is the dline stunt angles probably.. Match the cov3 angles as you will see some are a stronger slant | |

| The reason that I love the cover 3 is my fav is that the way that the DL rushes it makes it easier becuz I dont have to do alot of slants and re blitzes to the DL (in other versions i had it required slats and re blitzes)......And the fact that you can play the robber as the safety in the hook zone
If u notice the cover 2 has the DL on a stunt. That messes the blitz from 1 side but not the other. And it requires more set ups to achieve the heat from the other side.

Keep posting man I just went back to this scheme! I always learn a lot from you.
Robber? Do you always user this guy and blitz from the same side?

| yep I always user the side that I blitz from. Lasy year i dabbled usering away from the side that im blitzing from. But that just adds more steps to the setups and if u get beat you dont really understand what beat you | |

| Aside from when you use the wall what 43 set do you use most- over, under or still normal? You running Ten, Atl or Phl? | |

| as of now 4-3 normal is seeing the field. I tried to work the under, but the normal just offers more consistency. And now im running Tenn, but I might switch back to ATL to get back to the 2-4-5. Now I only will come out in the 4-4 vs 2 te formations. and you can basically get that alignment if you pinch the DL, spread the LBs, and bring the FS into the box from the 4-3 normal.....im still debating the switch though | |

| Does Atlanta defensive book have the nickel 2-4-5. I am using the Bears Defensive book. which book would you recommend for the Falcons on defense. I used your concept in my last 3 games and i won all 3 to were by the opponent quitting or pulling the plug. Thanks this post has helped me and now i finally have a scheme to base my defense off of. It even worked against 4 WR sets. | |
