ANTI-RAIDERS THREAD

Its nothing wrong or unbearable about the raiders. Any defense can get beat. You just have to counters for their wr core. You have options. Pick cowboys. Pick raiders. Pick ravens. Ive beaten the raiders with gmen and had phillips and ross at cb1 and 2. The guy chucked it ofton but i survived. You have to realize when you want give up short and play deep. And vice vera. I watched dhb streak right past phillips and ford smoke ross on the other side. Then webster and thomas pllayed a little deeper and ir helped. Manually covering drags. When you pick a team you have to find ways to counrer the raiders. Once you no that im home free. Like i wanted to use the green bay pack. Put finely at wr for rc and size period. Raiders have some bigger dbs. 3 6'1 guys and. 6'2 beast. You have to go big. 6 3 may not cut it unless he elite like dre johnson. But 6 6 barden negates there speed and 6 1 size and his cit and size mocks how fragile there cbs routt and johnson are. You cant really beat speed with speed. Throw the ball early in routes so speed isnt really worked up yet. Also rember every sucks at pressing but aso. So when they press you should unbump aso and have everyone else hetting pressed. Youcan face throw a lot of tall guys. I would reccomend zone defenses with heat. Teams like sd nyg bal(could run man) bucs packers. Titans. Bengals(man as well). Some big wrs a capable offense to wear that finese team down

i used the raiders the other day and man o man d was very easy and Ford is very fast and MCfad is a beast

You not liein' McFadden is a beast. I'd say he's the best all around HB in the game when in the right hands.

people dont play madden for fun they play to win so if they have to use cheese teams or plays they will so they can win..ever wonder why ppl come askin for the best nano or best money play bc they want to win thats all madden is about

Very valid point - although it is FUN labbing with friends coming up with new money plays and concepts to destroy other people. Plus we generally have fun as a community.

33-4 online.. Never used the Raiders, but probably about 15 of those 37 games were played AGAINST the Raiders.. I stick with the Saints and Chargers.. Experimented with Atlanta and Philly in a couple of games, but not really my style

I only use them against the following teams

eagles
bears
chargers
cowboys
vikings
raiders
Lions

because I want to match them with speed

other than that, its usually Carolina and Falcons for me

Let me explain something to you zfarls(not aiming nothing at you, its one of those if the shoe fits wear ordeals). ALL my life ive been living outside the box, when people liked the most popular thing i always went against the grain.when people go left i go right, when people like batman out the justice league, i like flash, when people like wolverine in marvel comics, i like iceman.see what i mean? when people like raiders, I stay on my path to my squad.I dont give a care how good the raiders are, im still using the vikes.this is what seperates me and everyone else who agree with me from the rest.i dont care about the concept, do what u gotta do to win, because things happens u win some u lose some, i feel those who use the raiders to increase their chance of winning lets me know they are highly competitive, which is cool,and all but my point is you dont have to utilize what everyone is using just 2 win, there are other hellacious squads in madden.

majority of madden players are casual gamers dont have time to lab and come up with their own stuff..so if the aka pros or hardcore players use the raiders they will do the same..while tryin to replicate the plays they use

ne ways the raiders are good but campbell or grad are good for bad throws and the wrs drop balls i can use them but its not necessary

Here's my two cents.

For me playing with the raiders is very deceptive. I went on a 12 game win streak using them after I switched my d scheme and was really excited. After reading this thread and realizing my goal is to become a better player I switched to Carolina and also running the Rams. I went on a skid of like 2 wins and 8 losses.

You can blitz man up and most of the time come out on top using the Raiders. If you are using the Rams or a team with very few stars you guys are right you have to think and scheme. I have gotten better this week just by not using them and forcing myself to scheme and just play smart football. Probably similar to what actual football coaches do to prepare for a team that is better than them on paper.

In a tournament or money I guess I see the point in using the Raiders. But if your goal is to get better or you are looking for a challenge find another team with less talent and go to work.

i use to be a heavy raiders user...but then i start playin with the bengals. Its just feels more rewarding winning with a team that isnt so fast and learning how use timing routes.

I had Raiders in one of my leagues so, I was used to them and in money tournies Ive been In I'll use the Raiders.
My real favorite team is the Gmen, I'll play with them, Ive used D Bears, Bengals, 49ers, GB, Ravens, Lions, Chiefs, Chargers, and the Jets. Im thinking of trying Tampa, I just like trying different teams sometimes to keep things fresh

Why we aren't peddling C4, which is hands down the most competitive league out there (along with LEX, in my opinion)? All I've seen, league-wise...is this MRL and Football Outsiders stuff. Frankly, I don't know anyone in these leagues besides Gibs/Farls...and that's doesn't really speak volumes to the competition for the league as a whole...

I think the ultimate test for the MB product is to get both hosts BACK into the C4, rather than these (IMO) subordinate leagues and for them to get more looks, use of other teams than the Raiders. It can only help the MB product...if MB is truly "for real" about becoming the best.

I'm going to be brutally honest, here. Being 14-0 in a league that's just only slightly more (competition-wise) than a glorified ranked game doesn't do much for me. That game vs. that Outsiders guy was like beating up on the poor and defenseless.

Cliff's Notes: GET INTO C4. It will improve your product against better competition. I mean, the guy from Football Outsiders was cool, but he was choosing stock setups in that whooping Farls gave him. No wonder he's 14-0 with Seattle (if it's Outsiders...)

As far as the Raiders go. They serve their purpose...If you're seeing a speed team, match them with Oakland. I'll never take Oakland first, though.
