Madden Demo

Hey Guys,

It's 11:00 est and no demo talk here yet. For those of you fortunate enough not to be at work today post some of your thoughts for the less fortunate.

I was able to play 2 quarters before I had to leave for work this morning. My initial thoughts:

Game speed is faster

love the new run game and tackling

zone defense is def beef up from 11 I tried to throw to areas that were easy recepts last year and guys were stepping up to make a play

Game seems very fluid

Love the new defenses in the packers book

Like I said i'm only 2 qrts. in but so far I like what I see.

Love the demo.


Zone is beast. Run game and game speed feels more fluid to me. Dynamic Player performance is great.


Some of my strong close stuff still works really well to a degree out of the packers playbook and love the O-Line VS. D-Line play plus players are actually aware and step up to make plays in coverage.

Colts D-line should be amazing and steelers front 7 should be great this year.


Can't wait to see gibs defense with the new zone coverage and man now.

only problem is that when the QB scrambles the defenders in zone (idk about man) just stand still and dont play it at all until he is about 6 yds down the field

most deff will be abused. And it isnt the snap and scramble....its more of a snap and wait for clear lane and then scramble

hopefully gibs could pass that along

other than that its all gravy to me as of now

plus I got to reconstruct my 4-3 frm the ground up ....thanks a lot gibs and farls lol

but seriously, I would say 90% of the "blitzes" in 11 wont work in 12..the ones that that arent rushing more than there are blockers anyway(obviously)

the 4-3 blitzes that are staple blitzes dont work or I havent found out exactly what I need to do to make them work yet..And thats saying a lot about how the heat will be considering that I feel like the 4-3 blitzes are what I call bread and butter blitzes. As in nothin changes with them every year.

but within 3 or so days I feel like I could find some things.

user play is great on O and D imo....Better stick at WR will show, and DBs arent at the WRs mercy..Click on and make a play and u will be fine

Passing, still getting used to it. But Both QBs can throw the hell out of the ball which is a good sign seeing how different they are/will be. But if you get stupid even rodgers will look bad..

a little disappointing that I couldnt call COV 2 and shade CBs to the outside..It auto man covers

hey guys love the demo so far i havent worked on O at all yet but ive done a lot of D ive found many blitzes from both books ... colonel ive found a couple nice 4-3 blitzes if you want me to show you... i would like to see some 4-3 stuff you have if thats ok cause i know you're a 4-3 master and ive never ran it before but i'm thinking about running it for the tournament on august 30 the midnight release one we could share some things i'm on 360 or we could pm each other

we can share stuff through PMs. other ppl use my 360 and idk what they do when they are online lol

At the risk of sounding like a rookie - I can't seem to find it. Searched the PlayStation Store and tried finding it through Madden 11, but no luck. Can I get an assist?

I don't think it comes out for PS3 until 6pm eastern.

Yeah, just saw that. PS3 is lame.

The 46 Normal formations still work just not as fast getting there with some of the blitzes that i run.

my first instincts on this game is that it's terrible. maybe i need to put more time in on it...but i doubt ill do anything more than just face throw all year. seems thats all you need to do. the fact that there are no plays with contains by default really pisses me off too.

zones dont react to scrambling qbs until they are 6 yards downfield.

ill list more later.

Zan have you found anything positive? lol How about qb spies? Do they react or just stand there like jackasses?

i am enjoying the demo, but am needing to re-train my brain because they changed the hot route settings again. it's just a matter of a change hitting up, left, down, and right vs. hitting Y (360) or LB/RB last year.

i figure we have 3 weeks before the release of the real deal... all that much more time to learn!

just go to settings, u can set it back to the quick controls

They sit around like idiots.

I like the demo alot, one thing that concerns me though is the QB Scrambling (Rodgers) and guys not reacting to him until hes about 5-7 yards downfield...

Imagine how Mike Vick is gonna do if Rodgers feels like 90 speed.... Hell, even Cutler feels like 80+ speed

just got the demo and i am really digging the running game so far! i can't wait to see my Ravens 3-headed monster: Ray Rice, Vonta Leach and Ricky Williams. lol!

has anyone tried out the sugar blitzes out of the bears playbook in the odd and nickle strong formation?

Been running the 46 normal in the bears playbook and strong close mostly in the packers offensive playbook.

demo so far seems pretty good. i think they def improved the gameplay and feel of the game this year. I think alot of the plays and strategies that worked last year will work similarly this year but it i will just be alot more fluid. Im not a huge packers or bears fan and wont use them on the real game or the playbooks but the game its selfs seems to be alot better then last year. Of course it is just a demo and some things will be different

On defense, can u crash the dline out and the de-ends actually crash out? In m11, the dEnds didnt change if u crashed out.

I like the demo. I think there is always something missing or wrong when the demo comes out but this feels fun(may be due to just being tired of madden 11)
