strategy pad

i think the strategy pad is the dumbest thing ea ever made.. i mean why fix whats not broken.. all i know is defense is gonna be very tough this year and offtackle is still gonna be good because even if its not as good as last year now it will be hard to make adjustments to offtackle with the strategy pad and kids who quick hike will kill you all day with offtackle.... whats do you guys think of the strategy pad

dont really understand y they changed maybe to slow people down from setting up nano blitzes maybe idk dont like it tho

I agree this is really stupid. I hate this feature. And the new kicking meter will prevent people from hitting 55-60 yard fg.

Hah, I came here to make a post about this crap. You've got to hit so many buttons to make even minor changes. Just awful. I'll probably skip madden this year if there isn't some way to go back to the old style audible system.

its the new way to playmaker players... instead of using A(X,PS3) RB and LB its all with the directional pad and it is a lot slower to setup blitzs, nanos, and coverage

This year madden is going to be all about offense ..... defense is not as easy now tht it takes time to set everyone up with the strategy pad... and i disagree with you dolphins i think kicking is still easy

well, you guys might wanna start searching for an off tackle defensive play while you can lol. Us ps3 users havnt even gotten the demo yet

Reading Ian Cummings twitter, he seems to think it going to be a great change "in the long run" as he stated several times....

Why not include the option to use the button scheme that we're all used to, OR the new strategy pad? I don't like how theyre forcing the change but hey, we might as embrace the d@mn thing cuz it isnt going anywhere

Once everyone memorizes all the strat pad options, it won't be an issue I don't think

It's annoying to pull up the menu.. then it just sits there the whole time.. It should automatically be there.. you press any button to pull it up first.. That's a waste of valuable seconds..


Also.. Anyone else think the audible system is terrible? It's going to be really weird at MLG.. Instead of the Quick Audibles for each formation being on the stick.. you now have to scroll over it.. they will know if you are choosing a run / pa pass / deep / quick passes.. Really fucking dumb.

d@mn thats annoying, why would they fix something that the community wasn't complaining about???

i feel like they are being selfish, they want the game to be like they way they want it and not the way that the community wants it.

Once u know your controls u can turn pad off which turns quick audibles off then knowone can see them.

the only prob that i see with the pad is that u need to tap it to activate it

hopefully if enough poeple speak up about it Ian and co. can send out a 1st day update that makes it so that you dnt have to tap the pad to activate it.........

Just hit his twitter up, send an email, post at places that he frequents...jus do anything possible to get his attention.

i don't even know where to start at with my defense. im not really liking this game. I never knew that joseph adai and green could break so many tackles.

cpu is on crack plug in 2 controllers(user vs user) much better labbing technique, and turn play clock off so u can get used to d-pad it honestly is not bad and trust me id be the 1st to hate on it if i thought it was weak. Lets go JayNizz lol

haha alright thanks bronco, i guess that would be a little less frustrating. i think im about to just wake up my homie and jump on his modded Xbox, he already has the full version of this game. i don't even know why im messin with this demo haha

I have a madden 10 tourney saturday so i gotta step away from demo till then

I dont mind the pad as much now after playing a few games. It was actually faster for me setting stuff up. I love the new kicking meter. I hit a 53 yard field goal with adam V of the colts, which i could never do on madden before with him.

i am behind the 8-ball here. just played the demo. wow! the D-pad "thingy" sucks! why in the world would EA and Ian change something that wasn't broken? unbelievable! but, i will play a few games to get use to it b4 madden11 drops. we have no choice! why EA why?
