So More Cowbell and I got paired up today in a quick unranked and he got a sneak peek at the offense I'll be releasing in shortly over a month. He had a nice coverage based D...but when I advertised that this offense will be able to find a gap in any 8, 9, 10, or even 11 man coverage, I was telling the truth.

GG boss.

Also, he ran the Carolina offense that is being shown lately from MB. And I seriously had to pull out my best blitz D to get to Rodgers before he could get passes off. Gibs has guys wide open all day. I'm serious when I say that you better just forget about stopping the WRs and just heat up that quarterback or Gibs' carolina scheme is gonna torch you.

MB doing great things. I can tell cowbell is tough...he just wasnt used to getting hit in .5 seconds from undercenter every down...

great game, zan. your scheme is pretty amazing in the sense that i tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked. all out blitz, all out coverage, mixing of blitz and zone... nothin' worked! and you're right, the heat you put on me was fantastic as even leaving a back into block meant nothing.

didn't even know it was you until i came to theMB forums! ha ha

thanks for taking me to the woodshed, zan! Shocked

lol no problem, more cowbell Wink

....saw you utilized shields on O...not a bad idea, but not necessarily tourney legal. I'd go with jennings on that side and go with your TE, finley in the other slot...he can get open enough and break tackles...use driver over the middle...his catch in traffic rating is 90something...so he's really really good for that...

gotta go gun in that scenario too...occasionally run the ball...id use starks (if they didnt cut him)...when heat gets in so fast you cant get the ball out without wobble you gotta go gun, no matter what...

LOL I would never use a CB on O.. different strokes for different folks I guess.. The Packers are just not fast at WR.. that's why you use other teams instead of putting 97 speed CBs at WR Razz Not too realistic.. Sorry, I just get mad when I play people that think they are cool for using CBs at WR...

I had some dude telling me that I suck because I couldn't stop Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.. even though he's like 98 speed.. 6'2".. Catch rating doesn't mean squat because offensive lineman can catch passes... the only thing that does matter is catch in traffic but sometimes you'll get lucky and actually complete the pass.. If you just catch the ball and don't get touched for 1 complete second after, you won't have to worry about your catch in traffic rating because it's only in effect when being hit. Btw, the guy had Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, and DRC on O lol..

Btw. I can see if you put a player like Deion Sanders or Champ Bailey at WR because they've actually played or were going to play on offense in the NFL. Shanahan was going to use Bailey on O for a couple snaps a few years ago.. he played WR in a Pro Bowl once lol.. Chad Ochocinco played CB & was covering Bailey; Deion Sanders played WR in the NFL occasionally.. I think he played WR when Irvin was injured once..

Don't grill the guy for putting Sam Shields at DB. He wants to utilize speed. Play with what you have. It's not a tournament...

At WR I'm guessing is what you mean? Anyway, if I play with what I have, I could beat anyone by using CJ at QB.. Audibling from Bronco Heavy to a Bunch formation and dragging all my players, run to the right & go for 100yds. I wasn't really trying to grill him.. I'm just saying that it's a little annoying playing against insanely fast CBs.. It's like playing vs. a team you know has no great Madden WRs, but then they put in a speed freak CB, it's annoying.

Anyway, I'm pumped to see your scheme. GL at the tournament you go to..

the packers overall are a slow team! i have suffered with my team not having speed for years, so when we finally got someone with speed, darn right i am going to utilize him in anyway i can! granted people like you will think it is cheap, or unrealistic, but people like me, who are not good at this game, look at it as an advantage.

i am too die hard of a fan, and a complete homer to use any other team in madden. everyone flocks to the elite madden teams and i take some pride when i am able to knock off the likes of the cowboys, vikings, etc. using the packers. i guess i view the game as more enjoyment with the occasional win rather then get in a rage if i lose 3 in a row.

don't get me wrong, i want to get better and dominate everyone, but i don't have all the skills. that is why i come here, to get better and pick the brains of better players.

in the end, if people really get pissed about a cb being used as a wr, they're definitley bigger needs in the world that need to be worried about.

with all that rant said, thanks for the tips zan. i will take it into consideration!!

I've played two or three people from MB. I'm not shy about playing anyone from MB, but today I had someone say "I'm from MB..." I didn't really recognize the name, but played them anyways. They kicked to me, watched me run one set of downs, and quit...I'm guessing they jocked my scheme...Too bad they can't jock reads and only got one play out of me...but it's my base play...so i'll start being weary, since this scheme will be in ebook form, one way or another...

Zan that was me that your talking about that you played. i really did have to go, i coach 8th grade football. im truthfully one of the most straight up players around. i dont cheat, i dont glitch, and i dont steal schemes. sure, i learn from oppenents just as anyone does in real life, but i wouldnt play you just to try and take a scheme. so with that being said im sorry if you felt like i was trying to scam you or anything, but i assure you that i wasnt because thats not my style.

It's all good. I just thought its was odd that I scored a TD pretty quickly, forced a 3 and out and all of a sudden you left the match. Haha. I believe you. You only saw the base play, FWIW.

Matthewxy1, I'll reply to your PM here. Gibs and I have pros and cons to our schemes. Gibs provides looks from 3-5 formations every game. I provide 1 formation with 6 or 7 plays I run from it that all involve the EXACT same presnap look (motion timing and all). Gibs can keep you audibling all game long by switching formations....but I have so many plays that I use (most are quick auds), that you can't really effectively run a sagging man, bump and run (NO NO NO), f@g zone, zone blitz (NO NO NO), or man blitz....

Also, while I run 6 or 7 plays, each has 1 or 2 alternate setups which will make your opponent stay honest should he decide to try to jump a route the next time around...so in essence, I have somewhere between 14/15 different setups....This is where that adage, "you can steal a scheme...but you can't steal reads" comes into place...it takes 2 or 3 games once you have the plays I run in your hands. After that you will know exactly what to do in a given situation.

Gibs has the ability to snap you out of position at any point in time...he can make you control players you hate usering (DTs or outside CBs, for instance)...while my methodology is to scare you from running anyone but a vanilla defense...

That's my best assessment.

Here's the deal. If Gilbert Brown Madden Challenge in Green Bay goes down, I'll be releasing it around Halloween. If not, look for it by the end of September. The key thing here is...I want to make sure this is tournament tested before I put it out. It's really killing guys online. I played a playoff game for C4 Majors today and went 26-32 for 404 yard and 5 TDs. I didn't even run the ball once...

If I don't hear anything on the Gilbert Brown MC by next Wednesday (one week from today), I'll be heading up to Gamers2Pro in Chicago, instead. If that's the case, look for it sooner rather than later. I'd really like for Green Bay to happen, because it will be the biggest tournament of the year. How can you turn down 5000 bucks guaranteed OR 2500 and pair of SB tix?

Bro it's not a glitch. It's a legit offense that makes the defense call a variety of plays to beat it...much like REAL football...
